St George Illawarra Dragons captain Ben Hornby will become the Club's all-time most-capped first-grade player when he takes to the field for the traditional ANZAC Day clash against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

The Dragons skipper will make his 257th appearance for the Dragons in the annual fixture and in doing so will overtake previous record holder Norm Provan.

St George Illawarra will take to the field and do their part to honour our service men and women in the traditional ANZAC Day clash against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium, Moore Park on Wednesday.

The annual fixture will see the Dragons join all Red V Members and supporters in paying tribute to former and current Australia and New Zealand service men and women.

Match day activities will help honour the ANZAC spirit and remember all those who have served their nation and will feature the Royal Australian Army Band, a moments silence, the reading of the Last Ode and playing of the Last Post.

The Red-and-Whites were 24-10 victors over the Roosters in last years corresponding fixture in front of almost 35,000 fans.

Dragons lock Dean Young will hoping to repeat the task once more in front of a sea of red-and-white as the Club chases their fifth straight win inthe fixture.

"Having the opportunity to play on ANZAC Day on such an important date in the national calendar is a privilege and one that I always look forward to," says Dragons captain Ben Honrby.

"I have been fortunate to play in several now and it's always great watching all parts of the rugby league community gather together to pay respects to those who protect our way of living.

"The match-up against the Roosters is always a difficult one and I think it will be a great game for all those in attendance."

There will be a number of ANZAC Day activities throughout the Sydney metropolitan area ahead of kick-off.

Therefore, the Club advises all Red V Members and supporters to pre-plan their journeys to Allianz Stadium, Moore Park and allow for adequate time to arrive at the venue.

Regular buses to and from Allianz Stadium, Moore Park will be in operation to Central Station.

Match day activities will honour the ANZAC spirit and remember all those who have served their nation.

In and around the forecourt area of the precinct prior to kick-off, members of the RSL will be selling pins and collecting donations for the National ANZAC appeal.

Highlights will include music performed by the Royal Australian Army Band which will be followed by a moment of silence, reading of the Last Ode and the bugle playing of the Last Post.

All these events will culminate with the arrival of the ANZAC Day trophy to centre field via Blackhawk helicopter.

Furthermore, all Red V Members and supporters will be able to show their true colours at the Dragons merchandise van as well sign-up their friends and family at the Red V membership marquee.

Please note that there will be free entry offered to Current Service Personnel in uniform and Current Service Personnel with Defence ID.
