Great value at Henson Park Double Header
There's another tough assignment for Newtown this Saturday - but the Jets are playing at Henson Park and more superb autumn weather is forecast - so get there in big numbers to give the Jets your support in this vital game.

After the Jets-Knights game on Saturday, be sure to get along to Rob Murphy's popular Botany View Hotel to meet all the Jets players and enjoy a few bevies with your friends. The address: the corner of King Street and Darley Street, South Newtown, deep within the heartland of traditional Newtown Jets territory. The hotel is one block away from the St Peters railway station. Rob and his friendly staff are great Jets supporters, so get along and show your appreciation for their sponsorship of our club. Plus ... you can watch the Sydney Roosters and the New Zealand Warriors NRL match live from Auckland on the big screen from 5.30pm!
Yes, you read it correctly - comedian of the year Tahir (as seen on Fat Pizza, Swift & Shift, Housos and the Footy Show) will be at Henson Park this Saturday, with a TV crew from Fox Sports to shoot a story on the Newtown Jets as part of a weekly slot he is about to start on 'NRL on Fox'. Tahir created a near-sensation at the Jets season launch earlier this year!
Both games on Saturday are being broadcast live from 3.00pm on Triple H 100.1 FM and they are both being live-streamed from 3.00pm on www.triplehfm.com.au
One of the pleasing features of last Saturday's thriller between Newtown and Norths was the presence of two members of the great Frank Hyde's family. One of Frank's sons, Mike Hyde, was in attendance along with one of Frank's daughters, Maria Harkness. We're advised that the Hyde family members will be out in force when the Jets and the Bears meet in the 2012 Frank Hyde Shield decider at North Sydney Oval on Friday, 10th August.
