Gidley out for the season, Buderus named against Roosters

The Newcastle Knights have named a 17-man team for Sunday's Round 9 clash with the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

The Knights will be without captain Kurt Gidley, who injured his shoulder in the Round 8 win over the Penrith Panthers. Gidley was assessed today and will know more when he sees the surgeon in the next couple of days.

Tyrone Roberts will return to NRL action this week and replace Gidley at half-back.

Danny Buderus, who was also injured in Monday's game, attended the team recovery session on Tuesday morning. He had scans on his Achilles and will be managed through the week.
