CARDIFF, Oct 24 PA - Warrington centre Rhys Evans is set to make his Wales senior debut alongside twin brother Ben in Saturday's Rugby League World Cup clash with Italy.

Bridgend-born Evans, who turns 21 next Wednesday, played for England's juniors last season but has switched his allegiance back to Wales for the World Cup.

Rhys, who is set to line up at fullback, played alongside Ben, who is a prop forward with Bradford, for Wales at Under-18 level.

The other uncapped players in coach Iestyn Harris' 19-man squad are Huddersfield prop Larne Patrick and St Helens forward Anthony Walker.

They are among 13 Super League players in the squad alongside St George Illawarra second rower Tyson Frizell, who was a late addition after recovering from an injury and flying in from Sydney.

If selected, former Wigan forward Jordan James will win his 28th cap, taking him to within two of Ian Watson's record on the 10th anniversary of his debut.

Harris said: "I think we have a really strong team for the opening game.

"We're going into it with confidence but we know that we'll have a tough time against Italy especially after their win over England last week.

"I'm pleased that Tyson Frizell has overcome his injury. He and all of the others have worked hard to be here.

"We now can't wait for Saturday to play in front of a packed house at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff."

Italy coach Carlo Napolitano's squad of 19 players all featured in the Azzurri's shock 15-14 win over England, although there is no place for 20-year-old Warrington reserve winger James Saltonstall.

Italy are without Newcastle forward Kade Snowden, who has one match left of a suspension carried over from the NRL to serve.
