Punters have wasted no time snapping up $1.65 about Canterbury to beat South Sydney next Saturday night at ANZ Stadium.

The minor premiers have firmed into $1.55 due to weight of early money; the biggest bet $12,000 at $1.65.

The price change hasn't discouraged TAB punters who are still happy to take their current quote, including $10,000 at $1.55.

"South Sydney have struggled when starting as outsiders in 2012, they have only managed to produce one upset victory all year," said TAB's Matt Jenkins.

However, that one win was against the Bulldogs in round 6.

* South Sydney have started outsider on six occasions this season, winning just one of those games.

* Melbourne ($10,000 at $1.65) well backed to beat Manly, but no price change from their opening quote.
