SYDNEY, Sept 13 AAP - Interim Canberra coach Andrew Dunemann has become the first casualty of Ricky Stuart's controversial shift to the Raiders, being told there is no position for him at the NRL club.

With Stuart deep in negotiations to become the new Canberra coach after walking out on Parramatta one year into a three-year deal, the restructure at the Raiders is well under way.

Dunemann has been linked with the vacant North Queensland coaching position but, in a statement released by the Raiders, said he was still working on the next phase of his coaching career.

"I owe the club a great debt and I believe the club has plenty of good years in front of them," Dunemann said.

"I'm working with Jimmy (manager Jim Banaghan) to find a position at another club and hope to continue my coaching career at NRL level.

"I would not have any hesitation to return to the Raiders one day if given the opportunity."

Dunemann took charge of the Raiders for the final three games of the regular season following the sacking of head coach David Furner, but failed to come up with a win as the green machine slipped out of finals reckoning.

Stuart is expected to bring his own assistants to the nation's capital, but there is still no word on when his deal will be finalised.
