Croker out with fractured cheekbone

Raiders centre Jarrod Croker will meet with the surgeon tomorrow in order to schedule an operation to repair a fracture to his cheekbone, after sustaining an accidental knee to the face in yesterday's elimination final win over Cronulla.

It's a cruel blow for both Croker and the squad ahead of Saturday night's second elimination final against South Sydney, after playing every game this season and leading the NRL's point scoring tally.

A timeframe on his return to the playing field will be determined post operation, while his place in the Raiders side will be finalised at tomorrow's team announcement.

Raiders Coach David Furner said the loss of Croker was a big one for the team ahead of Saturday night, but was confident the team could handle the loss.
"It's a huge blow for the team as Jarrod has been an integral part of our side this year," Furner said. "Having said that, we have great depth in the club in our outside backs and have several possible replacements which we will decide on later in the week."
