Cowboys coach Neil Henry said being able to send Bowen out a winner in his last home game was fantastic.

"It's been a big six weeks for the club and we didn't want to stumble at the last hurtle and to the boys' credit, great win," he said.

"It was a fitting farewell for Mango (Bowen) and the home crowd."

Cowboys co-captain Jonathan Thurston praised the way his side knuckled down after the Tigers fought back.

"To send out Matty the way he deserves in front of this home crowd, it will be a memorable night not just for himself but everyone involved," he said.

"We have worked extremely hard all year and to get into the semi-finals is a good feeling."

Wests Tigers coach Michael Potter said his team fought gallantly all the way.

"I'm disappointed in the loss, I thought that game was there to be won and we were put to bed early I think," he said.
