Seven years after he left the NRL to play with the Catalans Dragons in Super League, Clint Greenshields has decided to rejoin the Telstra Premiership as a member of the North Queensland Cowboys.

The fullback/centre signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys today and will join the team in pre-season training in late November.

Greenshields played 36 matches, including five finals, for the St George Illawarra Dragons between 2004 and 2006 before making what some judges viewed as a surprise decision to switch to Super League as a 24-year-old.

He linked with the Catalans Dragons in France and has just finished up with the club in the 2012 playoffs after making 142 appearances.

With 77 tries, he is the Catalans' all-time leading try-scorer and he was the first non-French born player to play 100 games for the club.

Greenshields also played two Tests for France, against England and Australia, in the 2009 Four Nations tournament and was named in the 2008 Super League Team of the Year.

Cowboys General Manager ? Football Peter Parr said securing the fullback added more depth to North Queensland's backline for the 2013 season.

"Clint was keen to come back and have another shot at the NRL and we're happy that we're able to give him that opportunity," Parr said.

"He's an experienced player who still has plenty to offer at this level of the game."
