With 2007 being 100 years of Rugby League in Australia, the Australian Rugby League (ARL) have already started announcing plans in which to celebrate the great achievement. The first concept being announced is the introduction of a Quad-Test Series.

Featuring the Great Britain and Irish Lions, New Zealand Kiwis and Pacific Islanders, the series will both be a boost to the international game, as well as a great way to highlight the different cultures and groups that influenced Rugby Leagueˇ¦s growth in Australia.

The tournament will be hosted by the ARL, however it will be likely that some matches featuring New Zealand the Pacific Islanders will be played outside of the nation to ensure that crowds are kept high.

Other key features of the Centenary Quad-Test Series, will be that Australia, New Zealand and Great Britain and Ireland will all play in their traditional jerseys which were:
- Australia V Maroon and Blue stripes
- Great Britain and Ireland V Red Vee
- New Zealand V All Black

The Pacific side will be made up of players who can represent Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands and any other Pacific Nation. The players will most likely be picked from the NRL competition.
