WHAT HAVE YOU GONE ABOUT REVITALISING THE SIDE?

“It’s just about working hard, looking at some of the positive things we are doing and trying to address the negatives.  There are signs that we are improving but the most disappointing thing is that we are making the same mistakes every week.  You have to keep going and working hard and that ball that doesn’t bounce for you will happen. We have hit rock bottom but we have to stick together and work hard for each other and we will come out of it.”

IS IT A TECHNICAL THING OR IS IT CONFIDENCE?

“It’s both without doubt. Some of the stuff we reviewed was definitely technical, which was frustrating because we knew what the other side were going to do and we still made the same mistakes.   That’s very, very frustrating.  As for confidence it’s like getting into a wining habit and you can also get into losing ones.  We knew we were only one score from winning that game and if we get that score we win it convincingly but we tried to get that score a little too cheaply instead of just building pressure like we had done in the first half.  They know what to do but when you are on the field and with the run we have had, then we have shown some naivety.

We had a poor run last year at the start of the season and when I was at Leeds people forget that the club nearly went into Administration and we had to build it up again.  So all that’s there in my makeup and I’ve been on five or six game losing runs at Leeds with arguably a better squad. You just get in these cycles and the key is not to get into them.  We have to just keep working hard because there aren’t too many cavalry options out there to come to the rescue.”

WHAT ABOUT WARRINGTON?

“They played very well on Monday against Wigan.  It was a high quality game.  We just need to play well. I know if we play well then I’ll be happy.  If we perform we will score tries and we will gain confidence from that.  We have had some good spells in all our games – except when we had a poor game against the Giants at the Magic Weekend – but we have not been able to link those spells together and we’ve not been able to finish teams off.

WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING FROM WARRINGTON?

If you saw them on Monday they were very, very good.  It was a very quick game and when Warrington start to offload then they are very difficult to contain.  We are going to have to meet them head on.  It’s about getting it right first time against the top teams because if you don’t then you will start chasing your tail and then you really start to struggle.   We have to keep sticking in and not try to change how we play because if we get field position then I know we can score against any side.

SQUAD NEWS

Bulls Coach Francis Cummins will name his squad on Friday but could welcome back Jamie Foster, Chev Walker and Jamie Langley. Tom Olbison won’t play as he has a knee injury and Jarrod Sammut is not fit to return.

MILESTONES

BRETT KEARNEY needs 8 points for a total of 200 for the Bulls.  He has scored 48 tries in 86 appearances.
