HOW HARD IS IT TO BOUNCE BACK AFTER SUCH A DISAPPOINTING DEFEAT?

“We invested a lot of energy in that game and looking at it in review we did a lot of good things. They had the ball seven minutes more than us and you can’t allow a side like that so much possession. They made us pay for that but looking at the stats we shouldn’t have really been anywhere near them. It just shows what commitment we had for each other to scramble like we did. We have taken some positives out of the game but defensively we need to be better. We need to get it right first time. The players will bounce back; they are frustrated and they know they can only put it right when they play again.

We are still in a similar position as regards the Play Off’s. We need to win our last three games but we are probably relying on others to slip up now. We know we will have to play very well to achieve that and it will be difficult at Castleford on Sunday.”

WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING FROM CASTLEFORD?

“They are a much improved team under Darryl and they got a good win at the weekend. Their defence has improved and we know they are a team that can score tries. They have some players who can really play in their side, so we know we have to defend well because if we stand off and let them play then they will do what they have done to a lot of teams this year and that is score points. ”

“We’ve been playing Play Off football for a few weeks now and we know what we have got to do. We need to get this one right early and we can’t rely on Castleford not having ‘anything’ to play for. Rugby League players are not like that. They all have tremendous personal pride and that doesn’t change. They will want to finish has high as possible in the table. We are going to have to earn everything we get from this game

RANGI CHASE IS A BIG INDICATOR FOR THEM. IS THERE A TEMPTATION TO WORRY ABOUT HIM TOO MUCH AND LEAVE OTHERS FREE?

“He is a very good player; something special but if you start thinking you need to put three or four players on him he will pick off a pass. There are players around him who enable him to play like that and we have to watch those as well. He is a big threat and you need big defence against him because if you leave it man on man then he is liable to beat that man himself. You have to work hard and there will be some mistakes around him but you have to cover for each other. That’s what the game’s about.”

SQUAD NEWS

Francis Cummins will name his squad on Friday. Matty Blythe is in contention after suffering a knee injury at Wigan but definitely missing is Heath L’Estrange, who injured his knee against the Dragons last week.
