SYDNEY, Oct 15 AAP - Brisbane have added a trio of signings to their NRL squad in a bid to add depth to the side after a bitterly disappointing 2013 season.

The Broncos announced the recruitment on Tuesday of veteran back-rower Todd Lowrie from the Warriors, utility Daniel Vidot from St George Illawarra and centre Stewart Mills from Cronulla.

The 30-year-old Lowrie, a 2012 premiership winner with Melbourne, was released by the Warriors last week on compassionate grounds and joins Brisbane on a two-year deal.

Vidot, 23, struggled for consistent form during the Dragons' forgettable season and also moves north for the next two NRL seasons.

Mills, 21, played just five NRL games for the Sharks this year but was a key figure in their NSW Cup premiership triumph and joins the Broncos on a one-year contract.

The trio joins Canterbury's Ben Barba and Sydney Roosters prop Martin Kennedy in an offseason move to Red Hill as coach Anthony Griffin attempts to rebuild from a season in which the Broncos missed the finals for just the second time in 21 years.

"They all add some depth to our playing roster. Todd in particular has got a lot of experience, including being part of a grand final winning team with the Melbourne Storm," Griffin said.

"He's played 184 games so he's got a wealth of experience and he'll really add to the strength of our pack."

Griffin said Vidot still has his best football in front of him.

"He was part of the Queensland Emerging Origin squad a couple of seasons ago," he said.

"He can cover a lot of positions centre, wing and back-row, and he's 108 kilos so he's a big boy and still only 23 years old.

"It's the same with Stewart Mills ... he covers a lot of positions from centre, wing to fullback and will add to the depth of our outside backs.

"We've really looked to build quality depth within our squad and reinforce our outside backs."
