BRISBANE, Aug 28 AAP - Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin is expected to reshuffle his backline for Friday night's must-win final round NRL clash with Penrith at Suncorp Stadium.

Victory would clinch the Broncos a finals berth and provide a fitting home send off for champion forward Petero Civoniceva.

After spending the past fortnight playing on the wing, Josh Hoffman trained at fullback on Tuesday morning and is likely to line up there against the Panthers with Corey Norman returning to five-eighth.

The other backline change will likely see youngster Dale Copley return from injury on the wing.

Brisbane have lost their past six games but halfback Peter Wallace insisted confidence remained high amongst the players.

"To be honest, we've come off the field in our last three games feeling like we've won," said Wallace, a former Penrith junior.

"We know we can go a long way in the finals if we just make a few adjustments and cut out some of our unforced errors."
