The Open Grade representative team played the Toowoomba Clydesdales in the semi final of the XXXX Statewide Challenge.

Brisbane Second Division led the Toowoomba Clydesdales 20 at half time, scoring four tries in the half. Brisbane went on with it in the second half, scoring another four tries to win the match 50-0. Brisbane will now play Cairns next Saturday in Cairns for the XXXX Statewide Championship final.

As a result of the match in Cairns, the Premier Grade Ted Beaumont Trophy match will not be played next week, but will be played as a mid-week fixture in a few weeks.

Ted Beaumont Trophy matches were played in the Northside 1, 2 and 3 grades.

Pine Rivers led Brisbane Natives 18-4 at half time in the Northside 1 Ted Beaumont Trophy. They went on with it in the second half, scoring seven tries to two overall to win the match 36-10. Pine Rivers now move to 17 points in the competition lead.

In the Northside 2 Ted Beaumont Trophy, Deception Bay Bombers scored two tries to none in the first half against Mitchelton. In the second half, Mitchelton scored two tries to none resulting in an 18-10 win to Deception Bay, who scored four tries to two overall. Mitchelton remains in the competition lead on 17 points. Bayside Warriors remain in second place on 14 points, while Deception Bay joins Gaters and Aspley on 13 points.

In the Northside 3 Ted Beaumont Trophy, Bracken Ridge Bulls led Norths St Josephs 10-6 at halftime, before going on to win the match 22-10, scoring four tries to two overall. Bracken Ridge Bulls move to 24 competition points, while St Josephs remain on 21 points.

Easts Juniors continue in the lead in Premier Grade on 15 points, after beating Souths Juniors 44-18. Gaters and Aspley share 14 points after Gaters beat Wynnum Juniors 36-4 and the Aspley v Carina match was washed out. In the other match, Sunnybank beat Greenbank 14-4, leaving Wynnum on 12 points, Carina on 10, Sunnybank on 6, Souths Juniors on 5 and Greenbank on 2 points.

In Southside 1, Logan Brothers beat Redlands 24-6 to be in the competition lead on 21 points. Mt Gravatt beat Wests Inala 48-0 to be on 18 points and Wests Centenary beat Souths Juniors 26-12 to be on 17 points. The match between Capalaba Juniors and Carina was washed out, leaving Souths on 11 points, Capalaba on 10, Redlands on 6, Carina on 3 and Inala on 2 points.

The matches between Rochedale Tigers and Bulimba Valleys and between Beenleigh Bulls and Slacks Creek were both washed out in Southside 2. In the other matches, Logan Brothers and St Brendans drew 30-all and Sunnybank beat Wynnum Juniors 30-24. This leaves the points table as Bulimba Valleys 24, St Brendans 19, Slacks Creek 17, Beenleigh Bulls and Rochedale Tigers both on 12, Logan Brothers on 10, Wynnum on 6 and Sunnybank on 4 points.

In Southside 3, Beenleigh Juniors beat Carina 24-22 to remain in the competition lead on 26 points. Mustangs Brothers forfeited to North Stradbroke Island to stay on 18 points while St Brendans beat Greenbank 28-22 to move to 17 points. The match between Capalaba and Graceville was washed out, leaving Stradbroke on 13 points, Carina on 11, Greenbank on 9 and both Graceville and Capalaba on 5 points.

There was only one match played in Southside 4, with Logan Wanderers beating Edens Landing 32-22. The other three matches were washed out. This leaves Slacks Creek on 24 points, Rochedale on 17, Edens Landing and Logan Wanderers both on 16, Browns Plains on 11, Waterford on 10, Capalaba on 8 and Beenleigh on 2 points.

In the Under 20 grade, Easts Juniors beat St Brendans 22-18 to be in the competition lead on 20 points and Brothers Juniors beat Waterford 88-0 to be on 19 points. Logan Brothers beat Cannon Hill 42-10 to move to 17 points, with St Brendans on 14 points. Brighton beat Norths 42-4 to share 10 points with Redlands, who had the forfeit from the withdrawn Albany Creek. The match between Aspley and Carina was washed out, leaving both teams on 9 points. Waterford is on 6 points, Albany Creek on 4 and Norths and Cannon Hill both on 0 points. The Ted Beaumont Trophy match next Monday will be between Easts Juniors and Brothers Juniors with this match being transferred from the match scheduled for 18 August.
