Wigan Warriors huge clash with Warrington Wolves on Friday is heading for a near capacity crowd with already over 20,000 tickets sold for the game.

The fixture is already being dubbed as a key fixture in the race for the Super League Leaders Shield even through the new season is only 8 weeks old.

Pre-sales have already ensured that the crowd will be the biggest of the season so far (surpassing the 17,120 that watched Leeds play Warrington two weeks ago) and should sales continue at current rates it could be the first sell out at the DW Stadium since the Good Friday fixture against St Helens last season. This follows a crowd of 22,701 who watched the game at the DW Stadium in 2010 and 21,056 that attended in 2011, with three consecutive sell out crowds of 13,024 at Warrington's Halliwell-Jones Stadium.

So far the South Stand has completely sold out and only 500 tickets remain for the East Stand, so fans are urged to pre-buy their tickets to make sure they can attend this massive game and avoid any disappointment. 3,000 tickets have currently been sold for the North Stand with Warrington expecting to sell their total allocation by the time tickets come off sale from the HJ Stadium at 3pm on Friday.

Warriors Head Coach Shaun Wane said:

"Wigan-Warrington games stand out in the fixture calendar for Rugby League fans, but they have become even more special in recent years with both clubs' re-emerging as genuine title contenders.

"There is no better place to watch these games than at the DW Stadium where the atmosphere will be amazing, especially under the lights.

"With tickets selling quickly I would urge anyone thinking about attending the game to get their tickets as soon as possible so they can join us for what should be a great game."

Tickets in the East and West Stands are currently on sale from the DW Stadium Ticket Office, through the Warriors Ticket Hotline on 0871 66-33-552 and online at www.wiganwarriors.com . Tickets for the North Stand (away fans allocation) are available from the Halliwell Jones Stadium Ticket Office, Wolves Ticket Hotline on 08448 111176 or online at shop.warringtonwolves.org.
