RHINO RUGBY & 1EAGU3 WORK TOGETHER ON RESEARCH PROJECTS

Rhino Rugby are working alongside 1eague3 to help test new technology and products.

The process started some months ago with a consultation process between leading rugby contact product designer Richie Gray (designer of the renowned Collision King machine in union) and representatives of 1leagu3 to develop a new generation of contact equipment specifically for rugby league.

The next project will see the two organisations looking to test and review the next generation of professional match balls. Rhino will be asking for feedback from 1eague3 players and conduct tests with leading clubs in the next few weeks. The tests will then be incorporated into the 2014 season match balls.

Rhino Rugby League Managing Director, Tony Colquitt, commented: "Rhino Rugby are always looking to improve their product and like most sports, players and coaches are looking for continued improvements. This process will ensure that any new technology meets the approval and requirements of the players before being introduced. The players are the end consumers and we are delighted to be able to work alongside 1eague3."

1eagu3 chief executive, Ernie Benbow, added: "Our partnership with Rhino has already allowed us the ability to ensure the equipment used in Super League is of the highest standard with our members getting involved in developing cutting edge, bespoke equipment to be used on the training field and on a match day.

"Developing the 2014 Match ball is our next project. Our partnership allows our members to test the balls, to give feedback on the design, grip, and feel in passing and kicking to allow RHINO to make available the best possible match ball to all players to match the player expectations of performance.

"This is yet another example of the work being delivered by League Thirteen on behalf of its members; we have improved the player voice and now we can show improvements in player involvement and engagement."
