I simply can not believe that a VERY mainstream betting agency (can't name) had Joel Selwood at $67. This guy has brownlow written all over him. He'll play in a top 3 side, he's coming into his 3rd year of footy, he'll rarely get tagged (Ablett and Bartell to wory about) and he's a jet. I've crunched him into $51 with my whack but I expect him to start under $20 by Round 1.
You can't get much better than $25 elsewhere across the country...
Chris Judd who is at $11 with a few bookies looks a great bet also. Apparently he's put his injury troubles behind him and you'd expect Carlton to win more than they lose this year. Proven vote getter...
Load up and lay-off mid season when Judd is $3 favourite and Selwood is at 10's.
! wow i am late! nice pick up Molanski should've payed more attention to this thread but im still happy with $1.60
i need ablett to win and swan to finish top 5 for massive collects and also have boyd placing at great odds, boyd top 5, goddard top 5 and a multi of swan top 5 finish & most votes group 1, thompson most votes group 5, clark most vote group 9 for small collects if they get up. (that multi is 40-1!)
needless to say that this Brownlow shows how inconsistent things are - only need to look at Round 17 Saints game. Hayes who plays a mediocre game gets 3 votes? Dal Santo nothing? Matthew Richardson the leading Tigers vote getter? Swan poor effort is hard to explain. I can hear the "Twilight Zone" theme in the background so I will just have wait and see.
To the Gospel, The Doc you cleaned me up so will pick up the tips for this saturday (i am a mug punter on weekends ;) )
i think swan definately should of scored in a few more games, no doubt, nearly 40 touches a few goals and doesn't poll one vote in either of these games, deserved winner in gaz though, and Horsemiller12 i think vince will be a big chance, although there is gonna be some big birds missing from the crows next year, can he do it without them? i think so.
yeah we can thank the great umpiring for that - will be running an app to see if a trend exists for umpires to select certain players in the past. Has to be some bias carried by them into their games will be keen to see if a trend exists. Will base my brownlow next year not on form of player but on bias of umpires and see how I go (will have to do better than this year - picked up some token wins)
Absolute clean up job..........Ablett won like the moral I knew he was......$1.70 to be leading after round 11 was free money (although Lenny Hayes gave him a run) and $3.00 to win, although many thought it was skinny, is massive overs now !! Just need the Saints under 39.5 in GF to make it a very very good result....go Saints !
Cats were good no doubt but they played Collingwood.......Doggies better side than them. Saints been best team all year no doubt. Cats been there before. All points to being a cracker of a Grand Final. Saints have the big gun forwards and Cats have the gun midfield. I think Saints' taggers are very good and can nullify the Cats gun midfielders enough. Lenny Hayes, Dal Santo and Montagna should be able to get enough ball into Riewoldt and Koschitski with Milne picking up the scraps to kick a winning score. Think it will be very close though
good pick swanny......J Brown is a gun. Best key forward in the comp year in year out. He should have an uninterrupted pre season and be fully fit Round 1 2010 and he will give the Brownlow an almighty shake. Fingers crossed I can get 25/1
Simon Black, Jonathan Brown 19 Luke Power 9 Mitch Clark 8 Daniel Rich 6 Travis Johnstone 5 *Jared Brennan 4 Joel Patfull, Jed Adcock 3 Bradd Dalziell, Ashley McGrath, Daniel Merrett 2 Daniel Bradshaw, Josh Drummond, Justin Sherman 1
Doc............read my Aug 28, Sept. 7 & 19 posts.......read em and weep !!!!!!! the $20 I lost on Mitch Clark pales into insignificance against my winnings (with hopefully more to come). I suppose you are gonna tell us how you backed Judd to finish 2nd now....lol
Huge effort by J Brown and full credit to you Swans. I didn't think Dane Swan would win coz he aint flashy enough but I still thought he'd come top 5, not sure what happened there. Good result though really. best 2 players in the league came 1st and 2nd, Judd a bit stiff not toget votes early, his first 3 games were pretty good. Have to say best bet of the night turned out to be Pendlebury to lead Magpies (was around $35 with Shaw, Swan, Didak and I think even Davis before him), I had a mate back him to come top 5 but not to lead his own team, safe to say we were laughing at his expense. One thing that did become apparent is that Gibbs, Murphy and Judd are going to consistently steal votes off each other from here on in and that umpires aren't big Fev fans (surprise, surprise). He kicks 8 against the Hawks and doesn't get a vote and kicks 9 against the Tigers when he was the best player on the ground easily and only got the 2 votes, I'm happy with the result but gee the umpires are strange fellas.
