Unbreakable Ballin ready for Broncos

Machine-like Sea Eagles hooker Matt Ballin has declared himself ready to go for the opening round blockbuster against the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp on March 8, taking his staggering unbroken run in the NRL to 132 consecutive matches.
Ballin, the leading tackler at the club last season with 1129 tackles averaging 41.8 per game, has not missed a match for the Sea Eagles since Round One in 2008.
"Yeah, the body keeps holding up, but as each season comes along you have to do more physical cross preparation because the game's only getting faster," Ballin said this week.
"I've been very fortunate avoiding injury, but in this game though, you never count your chickens. The last thing anyone wants is an injury just before the season kicks off."
The hooker was quick to point out the pack must be ready to go as soon as that whistle sounds.
"We are without Gifty (Glenn Stewart) for the early rounds, but the new boys in the squad along with the more experienced forwards have all worked very hard in pre-season.
"And the Broncos will be under pressure to bounce back from last season, so it will be pretty intense from the first whistle."
Ballin completed a searching training schedule this week and looks in great shape for the opening tussle!
