Turffontein is getting better with more racing. The mile will suit him plus he has Corey Brown who is riding at the top of his game. Value horse could be Rockwood if he gets a start. 1st up run was a beauty.
I agree turffontein gets in very well here has drawn a favourable barrier........should be one out with cover......a few of the better horses have drawn unfavourably i.e. orange county (16), sea battle (18) and i dont know where bon hoffa gets to from barrier 2? Raheeb has drawn 15 as well so maybe turffontein is the value
I am thinking raheeb might run better this race, might of needed the run last week good value at 9s condsidering it was favourite last week and 1 bad run does not mean it is out of form.
as this is an exempt CC race it is interesting to note that no caulfield cup nominees are contesting this....
wonder what THE FUZZ is up to here... not in any of the cups... bobbed up fresh now he is down in distance from last start in UNDERWOOD... will be fit, well weighted and will be just behind the pace... could be tough to get past at CAULFIELD with absolute gun draw!!
HERE DE ANGELS impressed after missing the start last time out but will scoot forward off a wide draw with RAHEEB, KINGDA KA and ROCKWOOD keeping them posted early... SEA BATTLE is in a hopeless position here... cannot afford to go forward so they will have to ride it cold which is a big worry.
I think they all have the gate speed to reach the lead and then i think we could see them put the brakes on and soften up the backmarkers a bit.... happy to risk the top 2 in this from their draw and weight... thought (and i hate to say it MONEY) that ESKIMO QUEEN gets in very well here and should get a really nice sit on them... nice value at 23-1... thought MARCHING could bob up as well at 50-1... reckon ALAMOSAs run in the MEMSIE was outstanding for this and if the entire gets a sit on them here look out!!! 10-1 and profit for the place is a nice each way bet!!!
Alamosa the best value in a tough race and Mick Price picks up a few winners over the spring this may be it.
looks like we nailed that PHILONE mate... geeez we got some serious value for a nag coming out of the MEMSIES to this... Froggy kept her out of trouble from wide draw and although wide she had a nice run behind them.... copybook froggy copybook!!
Could not believe the price ..will be shorter next time it was my best bet of the day and for a track playing like it is I was dissappointed in a few nags that should have had better runs.
