Gee you would think Romneya with Barrier 1 looks too good for these.
im not sure BLACKY... think PORTILLO got a gun draw here... sounds wierd but she is absolutely primed for this and as we saw on the weekend there is nothing wrong with a wide run down the middle of the track!!! SPARKS FLY has me interested at the moment and of course the big overs on LOVE and KISSES!!! GALLICA and everything that finished behind her should get exposed here....6-1... no thank you!! (it will win now)
i'm with you chilli, portillos form through sam miss is outstanding if she is a cox plate contender & i think she is looking for the distance. romneya a definate chance if nshe gets the distance but will have every chance from 1. kilmsy is a nock out chance with the stable confident of a bold showing from3, but still plenty of chances if portillo doesn't blow them away.
Plenty of chances here so i'm gonna go out on a limb and pick a FIVE way dead heat between Glowlamp, Love and Kisses, Romneya, Arms Wide Open and Oval Affair. I guess i'll box those with Portillo.
For those keen on Samantha Miss in the Cox Plate a boxed first four here of 1-4-7-9 should be an absolute certainty and a licence to print money
I'm with you fakey. She finally draws a gate. If you go on her run at Caulfield 2 starts back and disgard her lsat run when she had a respiratory infection leading up to it.. she looks the goods.
Im tipping a longy for value Fly Higher, the way spring racing has been going a $30 winner would seem normal atm.
GLOWLAMP OR KIMILLSEY
Samantha Miss form appears the standout, however Sydney horses tend to struggle around Caulfield 1st time. Snowden would have Portillo well educated, may prove the difference. Oval Affair for me, would prefer her at Flemington, but I don't think she'l get as far back tomorrow as she has previously. Any longshot could be way to go, mighty Miss Finland only won this by a nose....
Telling you a value horse Fly higher, barrier 16 will be up near the lead or will have to settle back near the tail and hopefully gets a run right behind tameer and wins by half a head down the outside has run in melbourne before cmon one time lol.
Only query Ive got on Portillo is her record on good rated tracks. If it were slow Id say it would be all over. I query the Sydney form. Dont doubt that Samantha Miss is a quality horse, but the horses that she has beaten haven't really tested her and Glowlamp reminds me too much of another Moonboat.. Romneya is a tiny filly, she finally draws a gate but horses with set backs in their preps worry me.. Oval Affair finished her race off well but im thinking Oaks for her.. Sparks Fly has a good enough sprint to win this but how long will Payne wait to pull the trigger? Love And Kisses might get posted wide from barrier 9 if Gallica & Cats Whiskers both sit outside Romneya.. I dont think this is an easy race at all
Watch the 3
Not going out on a HUGE limb here, but I'll give the nod to Kimillsy but with not a lot of confidence.. My assessed prices, assuming no scratchings are:
9 - Kimillsy - $4.50
1 - Portillo - $6
10 - Cats Whisker - $8
We might see samantha miss's form look a little worse for wear after this..........well that my opinions.......kimillsy to run the best of the sydney runners but only a place chance......romneya looks the one
portillo will win this lads.
go a big all up SUNBURNT LAND into PORTILLO
It is a pity Sam Miss isn't running in this. I reckon she would nearly lap them. She hasn't even had to try to take up a position in running to beat the Sydney 3yo fillies, so it is hard to see any of the Syd horses winning. Glowlamp and Portillo have been gallant in defeat, but without Sam Miss those races/formlines they look a bit poor.
I'll land on Romneya, but no money is going on this.
Would imagine that the Syd form will be knocked down a peg after this race, for no reasons other than it was over rated in the first place, and their best 3yo won't race.
HI GD I think sunburnt land has been scratched
Yeah Portillo looks the goods here, i like Glowlamp 4 abit of value.
Queen of the falls is the best roughie of the day
Anyone like Arms Wide Open? I kinda do
