Personally i think that buffering is quite vulnerable here tonight. It will be on at the turn and he will have to pull a lot out imo. TGYH is the likable horse to my eye, new stable and maps well. I especially like that G Boss trialled with it. Can just see the post race interview 'i got off it after the trial and declared it blabla'
There is some legitimacy to the ? on Buffering tonight... He's first up without a trial as he was last prep, but he's first up over 1200m tonight, not 1000m. You would take the line that 1200m first up suits him better, but not necessarily without a trial.. Class will carry him a long way, but if he's simply not fit enough, Tiger Tees will storm over the top of him late....
I thought it was a great call, very exciting. Well done buffering, tough but i thought the track probably got him home. TGYH ran well but peaked on his run. He was probably pretty forward though so not sure what to make of it.
Wow that was an epic run by buffering, couldn't believe how fast he was, never seen him run before now, had to do some facetiming on the lappy with dad at home on iPad to watch the race Lol, good stuff!
Well done to all that backed Buffering, and it seemed there was a lot of people. I only switched over to Sky just before they jumped and I see he was $1:70/$1:80 on the totes. Hope whoever backed him got the $2:40 or better that was available earlier in the day. Always good to see Queenslanders beating their southern counterparts :P (And yes, I can brag when they do, because it doesn't happen too often) Ready To Rip is a 5-6 length better horse now that he is with Moody, and his run was outstanding. Was very unlucky not to get through the gap earlier. Tiger Tees just couldn't do it hard both ends of the race this time, and the tough run told the story . Buffering is a bulldog , and was always going to be hard to get past if he got a "comfortable" lead. I am not his biggest fan , and I actually gave him no chance in the Stradbroke over 1400m this year (because I rate him purely as a 1200m metre horse max.) but he is a tough horse that runs on guts and determination. Hopefully he can find a Group 1 victory at some stage. Thankgodyou'rehere was a promising first up run.
Hah , well I am sure most assessed the race pretty much the same way Scott . I am just glad Buffering got home , from the other Queenslander , Ready To Rip (yeah yeah, i know the second horse is not a QLD horse anymore people , but he WAS, so we can still claim him) :)
