Wow!!! Just watched this mare's win at Wyong on the tape and it was super impressive. Had to do a little worky early then Munce eased it down the final 50, and it went over 1.50 sec faster than the other maiden. Looks a city winner for sure!
There is no doubt about her winning a black-type race. Connections are thinking of running her again in town and if she performs well then she may be freshened up for a crack at a fillies and mares race on Oaks day at Randwick.
Would have been a better run if she could have hung on had a few $$ on her :(
Yep, if you were on her it was a case of bumping into one better on the day. She actually went 2 lengths better than her first run, and has Group 1 or 2 written all over her. Not many horses rate like a Group horse horse at their first start and then rate like a Group 1 horse at their next. She has. Special!
I left her out last minute. Could have done with another 2nd! haha
The next superstar to hit Sydney! She was ultra-impressive and Im sure she has a G1 in her. I posted a thread before its first start saying she was going to be good but im convinced shes more than good!
Couldn't agree more TheNudge. Has had 'Group horse' written all over it since its debut. Didn't see the win tonight but can't wait to see the replay. So glad I took the top fluc option when I backed her early this morning. Opened at $2.10!!!
Gotta love the top flucs.. Did the same Munty. It was a nice win. She was held up in the straight and when she got the gap at about the 200, put pay to them pretty quickly. She looks good but lets not get too carried away hey... Definitely a horse to follow.
Can only go on the way I assess horses, and everything tells me she is top drawer. Could go on and on about the horses who have shown me the same ratings and have proven to be top class, so I'll stand by my claims. That's the beauty of racing though isn't it - opinions are like bums......
Everyone's got one...
what a great day for lovely Madame Pedrille, and jimbo is still the king!
Good on u Munty u said she was top drawer from the very start and u were spot on.
Was great i wasn't sure if she was up to this but wow!
Its very rare when you get it right about how far a horse can go, but when you do it feels good. I am feeling fantastic at the moment. The way she sprinted in the heavy going despite sitting 3-4 wide the whole trip was outstanding. Heres to us Munty!
yep, u backed her all the way Nudge and deserve the congrats as well!
Yes, here's to us TheNudge! We were on our Pat Malone there for a few weeks. What a collect!
You have mentioned that you seem to know the connections. TheNudge. Any idea where she is off to next? Group 1 races here we come!
They are setting her for the Queen Of The Turf and/or Coolmore Classic. Depends how she pulls up after that run but she is up there in terms of my fav horses now!
Yep,as soon as she wins a Gr 1 she'll join All Silent as my current faves.
Just got off the phone with Ray(Owner) and she has pulled up well but he is thinking of spelling her and targeting the winter carnival in QLD. A decision to be made in the next week or 2.
That would be a great idea! They know she can handle the wet now, which will be a big plus in Qld at that time of year.
Hey TheNudge, I bet there are punters out there who think that win was a fluke 'cause it was in the wet. I certainly hope so anyway. Might give us another massive price!
I dont know about that Munty. I think people will take notice of the fact that she was 3-4 deep the entire trip and she did beat a handy field. But there will be some people who will think that the win was a fluke.
How hard will it be to get past her in some of the races she will contest... Im thinking the BTC cup (WFA), Stradbroke (51-52kg) and the Winter Stakes for fillies and mares. My mouth is watering at the moment.
Munty I think Madam Padril has got to win another race by a good margin to be considered a group horse Have a look at Rumba Jack
Percy, no disrespect mate but you are kidding with Rumba Jack. He is a handy horse but is nowhere near as good as Madame Pedrille. Have another look at Madame Pedrilles win yesterday and have a look at the field she demolished. Rumba Jack would have struggled yesterday.
Nudge might know more, but connections knew it liked the wet apparently (plenty of chances to find out at Williamtown lately!!), and they know it is talented, they've backed it each start. I've heard a few fans pumping it up over the last few weeks around the traps.
Cassidy jumped off and said he thought "the outside barrier was a blessing, they were in the best ground (3-4 out), got to the centre track nice and early, and with 53 she was expected to go whoosh." (sic).
I wouldn't say the wet track made it a fluke, but it may have flattered, as she may be well suited in the soft stuff, and against the horses she faced. Time will tell.
A good horse with no secrets, punters backed it heavily late in the week. I'm looking forward to seeing what they end up doing. She may be the 2nd best horse in the valley already, which is a pretty good label to wear after 4 starts.
Wake up to yourself Percy. And learn to spell! Next you'll be saying horses like Cattleman up in Brisbane are legless.
