This is one for LILYDALE STEVE... mate the HUSSLER which i know you are a massive fan of (with very good reson of course)... 1000m first up, on level weights with the field bar WILANDER... main target DUBAI over 1777m then onto the HONG KONG MILE... what do ya reckon mate?? I know they have given the staying away so he should be sharp as a tack for this.... but 1000m?? geez thats trusting him a lot isnt it at the short odds?? Will get a crack at them i imagine sitting behind SNAPPY TOM and APACHE... One i will have my eye on is SWISS ACE here... not so much for this race but just to see how improved a horse he is now.
One to watch in this is Seventh Rock ..lazy horse to train but worthy to note that he put six wins together from nine starts in south africa ..he was rated as a near champion and has a good turn of foot..well worth including in your trifectas ..also a good eachway bet .
yeah i heard the same from the HAYES camp mate... they do like him dont they!
what about my walking nightmare SWICK i would say its a chance on talent alone .
MACCA how bloody dare you plant that seed...
i no what you mean , but if its being backed its a huge chance , unless i back it of course it hates me for some reason but one day i will eat a pie with its name on it.lol
i will give you some positives mate... ran a helluva race in the LIGHTNING last year behind APACHE CAT coming from dead last on the turn before being terribly unlucky in the NEWMARKET behind the HUSSLER... really couldve stretched him there with any luck in running at all and that was the second year running he has had terrible luck in the NEWMARKET... he is a summer horse mate and the speed will be on here and has excellent form first up...
yeah ok chilli ive been telling myself i will follow swick from its first start no matter what , i really do think he is in the same class as the hus and the cat , i just never seem to be on him when hes ready to go.
Macca I am in the same boat as you, never on him when he wins, always on him when he loses, it's annoying haha.
the worst part is i always jump the race before it wins
im hearing you amte and i am similarly cursed by him as well... got stuck into him in Brissy and the followed up until the day he won!! I think he is exceptionally talented but thoroughly one dimensional... if speed isnt on he is no chance...
There's speed in this though i reckon, i can't leave it out, if you're putting a F4 on i wouldn't leave out Snappy Tom to run a decent race 3rd or 4rd has fitness on his side.
Are far as Racing in general goes i'd like to see the Hussler win it by a length.
im with you there TEVEZ... generally when you got some gun horses and they are on pace runners they tend to slow it up a bit to give them the best possible... see it all the time in touted match races between two guns... lil SNAPPY will be definately leading them up and they may well leave him alone... have no doubt he is a decent horse who can carry weight and if he gets it to suit at 101-1 there are worse bets to be had in a small field where anything goes. Great F4 value pick... love your work mate.
the hussler will win, the 1000m down the straight is no problem, rosco wouldnt run him unless he knows the horse will win. thers a couple of good straight track horses in the field that i will be putting in multiples with the hussler, typhoon zed-grand duels-wilander, and i'll throw seventh rock in for the unknown factor at odds obviously a good horse. i seem to back swick on his good days but im leaving him out of this one, will have someting on him in the newmarket tho:)
Hussler opened up @ $1.90
Cat @ $3.20
I thought it would be the other way round to be honest.... at $3.20 I can't go past the cat to beat Swick and Zed..... Hussler will run on well but not figure
Totally agree with MightyHussler the camp wouldn't talk the hype of the last 2 weeks how good he is going and could beat the Track Record. My opinion if you are a betting man take $1.90 because when he wins you will not see $1.90 again this prep.
Im tipping Weekend Hussler to beat Apache Cat and Typhoon Zed for third.
The Hussler will sit in the first 3 (could even lead) and his class will get him home. I think you'll get $2.20+, wether it be top fluc or tonight/tomorrow... Don't touch anything under $2! Isn't it great to have him back? It's so exciting to see him set for the sprint/mile trips. Bring it!
Even if the Hussler goes down by 57 lengths you probably won't get much better than this starting price this prep, the Australian public are very forgiving when they need a hero in the racing world.
I'm with Philone and will be keeping a very close eye on Seventh Rock. If it was 1200 then the other eye would be on Grand Duels, but not this time.
40 degrees...straight track...wind blowing...grandstand or inside rail.... too many variables for me but gee Id be disappointed if you werent on ya mate Swick Chilli!!! For me this meeting is a watch for later as it should hold well for the autumn..
good to see most are behind the Mighty Hussler! i dont think he'l be to close to the front im predicting ther will be a few that wont want to be behind him when the whips are cracking so ther will be speed on from the getgo, i can see him sitting 5th or 6th eyeballing apache cat then just cruise up to the pacesetters when ther under abit of pressure and hopefully zoom past em! as HorseMiller said, Go the Hussler!!!!
my fav horse apache running here.. this is a tough one though.. i like swick and grand duels here as well, the husstler will either win or not figure in the top 4.. my guess anyway
gotta say well done to SANDGROPER... called it, tipped it and hopefully had his house on SCENIC BLAST... well done mate... anyone got any theories on what happened to the big 2... always happens in supposed match races doesnt it..
Zed tipped it as well, has a slight hope for the $500
lmao, if think there is no hope in hell for anyone, But I bagged the exacta so was happy, $10 on it so not complaining
