My Avatar and my favorite horse salutes!! Good on the big fella!!
Looked the winner a long way from home GD. Did you hear Hayes say they are going to keep him to sprint trips in the Autumn? I would have thought the Australia Cup 2000m at Flemington would have been perfect for him this prep if they want him to be a stayer in the spring.
They are talking doncaster, I think the mile is his peak distance at the moment! Largo Lad is like a good whiskey. He will get better with age!
Mate hate to say this but he just needs too much to go his way.. Would be a great sprinter if he could just quicken but he takes a long time to go throug his gears hence why trainers believe he will stay but 1600m is his ideal trip... Problem is I think if any one had stats id say 80% of group mile races are run at a slow tempo and the big fella is one dimensional.. needs speed on and LOTS of galloping room to wind up..
MT.....your right. But remember races with big prize money can often be run at a hectic pace. He is one dimensional however, and things do need to go right! But its an awesome sight seeing the big galloper unwind with his big strides!
