FINDING WINNERS AT GEELONG THOROUGHTRACK
There has been a lot of interest in Geelong Thoroughtrack (GTT) across the forum of late.
Since we are looking at a meting per week there through till the end of September, I'm doing two things:
1. Providing a preview for each meeting
2. Attempting to develop a system to pick some winners there.
I would be interested in your comments and feedback.
Tanika, when you are working on your system there, dont forget my earlier comments regarding the rules you use at the Valley.
Can`t help you with that one i`m not familiar with the dam, although born 9TH of August should be well developed musclewise.
Bombard is her first foal has been back to fu peg, encosta and dehere since
Thanks steve..heres what Im going to say un the preview:
(I'd like to add...time to have a cuppa, I never bet on maidens, ut need to say something in a preview) I should also add that the best jockeys are on Numers 1 and 4!
Another maiden with a lot of horses resuming and some having their first start. As far as I can see only Yamaman has had a run here at GTT. While it was beaten a long way, experience does count here. Bombardi is very well bred, trained by D O’Brien, and if its going to show its potential, will be the testing material. White Pebble has good form in NSW, and if it can handle GTT, must be a huge threat.
Ok now im getting it, La Boiselles mother Sommes Sound is the mother of Asserive Lad and Assertive Lass. Im a bit behind ya Tanika but I love the Australian Stud book.
You are not behind me at all Chunky..it is well bred thiugh, and it makes you wonder just what O'brien is doing? Giving it a start in a Kyenton maiden????? eothr its had problems, or they are being very patient. It is a 3YO and a colt....
Remember Paris Lane had its first start and win in a lowly Yarra Glen maiden then the following season won the Caulfield Cup and was runner up in the Melbourne Cup to Jeune.
Do you remember Jeune's form before arriving here? Something like 10 placings from 15 starts. Magnificent. The lesson is: they all have to start somewhere (even a lowly maiden in the bush). Think Super Impose got his start after a fast finish in a Seymour race.
Super Impose was beaten in a Seymour maiden at his 1st start by another Imposing gelding for which Freedman and Supers owners were the underbidders. The other never won another race and Super went on to be super. I think it was his 3rd start that he missed the start and flashed home to reveal his preferred style of racing. I picked Jeune as my Melbourne Cup horse after his first Australia start, the 25/1 i got Cup Day was sweet!
Thanks for the email mate that would have been a real mess up
have a good one
No worries that`s one of the advantages of adding a mate you get to send an immediate message to someone via the invitation email.
Tanika, you got that first starter Bombard worked out did it win well?
Thanks Chunky...I was busy and didnt hear the race...but it got the cash.
Actually, if you look at my Geelong preview for today...I previewed 8 out of the nine races, and if you would have followed them, its reasonable that you could have gotten 8 winners, the quaddie, double etc, plus a couple of quinellas. I dont like to blow my own trumpet, but it doesnt happen often.....
Good work mate, how come ya didnt tip them?
I resolved a while back not to tip At GTT until I had sorted things out there...so I havent bet or tipped there, but its getting close now
I reckon you got it sorted now Tanika good results.
GEELONG THOROUGHTRACK Tuesday August 12, 2008
RACE 1 No selection
RACE 2 Preview: As far as I can see only Yamaman has had a run here at GTT. While it was beaten a long way, experience does count here. Bombardi is very well bred, trained by D O’Brien, and if its going to show its potential, will be the testing material. White Pebble has good form in NSW, and if it can handle GTT, must be a huge threat.
Bombardi 1st $2.20
White Pebble 2nd $1.30
RACE 3 Preview: On disclosed form, the race almost belongs to I’m Taken. However, Hiddink will improve on his last run, and Stavros did have excuses here last start over 1300. Watch Filter...a first starter by Testa Rossa, and trained by Hayes.
Filter. 1st $5.70
Stavros 3rd NTD
RACE 4 Preview: Big Johnnies Gem and Our Kobi Jade come out of the same race last start, and finished basically together. That was over 1200 and the step up to 1550 is the query. Just for Laughs has form here, and Zenacity must be a huge hope, His last run here over 1550 was creditable.
Zenacity 1st $9.80
Just for Laughs 2nd $1.80
Big Johnnies Gem 3rd $1.80 Quin $23.5 Exacta $58.5 Tri $290.60
RACE 5 Preview: There is no standout as far as I can see in this. The horse with the GTT form is Orihome. She will be handy, and will figure in the finish. Runaway Dancer and Atomic Chilli are in reasonable form on other tracks and are both chances. If there is a knockout horse, it could be Our Treat.
Runaway Dancer 1st $3.50
Atomic Chilli 2nd $1.60
RACE 6 Preview: Both Sunny Sideup and Ponbar Nugget have form on heavy tracks, but their ability to handle GTT might be the question. Storm At Dawn wasn’t beaten far here in a maiden, gets a nice weight drop in this and will figure.
Sunny Sideup 1st $3.10
Ponbar Nugget 2nd $1.60
RACE 7 Preview: Zaidee’s Rainbow has the form on the board and will be the testing material. Starspect must be a chance, and two horses down in the weight can figure. They are The Granimator and Affinis. The Granimator wasn’t far away two starts back here, and Affinis finished 4 lengths behind Zaidee’s Rainbow here last start. He meets that horse 2Kg better today.
Starspect 1st $3.00
Affinis 2nd $4.10
The Granimator 3rd $1.90 Quin $70.30 exacta $73.30 Tri $385.50
RACE 8 Preview: Perfect Penny has the form on the board and will give this a shake. Other chances are Longjohnsilver and Tourelle Lad . Down in the weights, Abitofun has been freshened and while his form is better over longer distances, just might finish it off in the straight
Perfect Penny 1st $5.20
RACE 9 Preview: Seems to be Atall Atall’s race, though chances should be given to Sadiya and Rack It Up.
Atall Atall 1st $3.10
Sadiya 3rd $1.50
Quadrella/Treble/ Daily Double : Sunny Sideup, Starspect, Perfect Penny, Atall Atall
Nice work Tanika, I look forward to your next Geelong Preview, and will be playing around with some exotics!!
Keep up the good work!
Hey all , have great mail for tomorrow, how does on submit the fantastic mail for all to preview ? Regards and may the photos go our way , U
Awesome work Tanika,
Better start tipping on that form!
Gave my chance to Sadiya in the last costing me the daily Double and missed the third leg of quaddie. Well done on the in depth analysis. Hope it paid you handsomely.
Top Work Tanika!! On what is highly regarded as one of the harder tracks to rate horses, you've done extremely well!! Keep up the good work!
Are you in tomorrow Tanika at Syn City or still watching.
