Agreed
it looks like stagg at 5/8 which doesn't give us many try scoring options on his side of the field

a bit harsh... i think Hodkinson had a solid first season with us but this year has just been hampered by injuries
rictchie

He is on 270 k a season and last year he played a handful good games last year
his kicking game is woeful, he can't kick further than 30 meters and has no attacking game.
hence why when he came back he went through nsw cup
he definitely won't be re signed at the end of his contract IMO

it is looking like Hodkinson won't be re-signed after next year, but i think that is a mistake

Mate he has made 1 line break all year, on nrl stats, for a halfback that is woeful
He has had no try assists either, I think those stats speak for themselves
there is a reason he won't be re signed mate

I'm with Alchemist, unless not re-signing Hodkinson is due to injury. Hodkinson is a superior half to Keating when both are fully fit and his stats being low are more due to his injury interrupted season than ability. He was coming back through NSW cup more due to keeping stability in a winning team until it was confirmed he was over his injury problems, which was a smart move given he is now out with the shoulder. Keating tries his butt off and has got better as the year has progressed but for halfback ability Hodkinson is comfortably in front for mine.

Well obviously des hasler is right don't u think?
Hodkinson is clearly not a long term option hence why Keating is being re signed for 2 years and hodkinson will be released

i heard pritchard and kasiano will be OK for round 1. the other news is that Ben barba has stood down from his duties due to personal reasons. it seems it has been brewing for a while and both him and the club have worked together to help Ben through this time. if he misses the 1st few rounds we will need to get another full back. we have mitch brown, steve turner and inu who can play fullback. brown wanted the fullback spot at the tigers and is one of the reasons he came to the bulldogs because moltzen and tedesco were ahead of him. inu was a hit at fullback when he was at parra but lost form with warriors when locke was their no 1. lafai, druey low or young up and comer jon talioe sila can fill in the center wing spots. if we lose a prop then there is Marty taupau, big David klemmer who should get a run this year anyway and Tim brown. so we may do it tough for a bit and it will be a test for our character but all the better to build a stronger team in the end. we will come home stronger and have some good back up to go all the way.

well we have played 3 and lost 2 but the loss on Thursday against the storm was a gutsy effort. the stand in players were great and are finding their feet. its a shame that a couple may miss out when the others come back. i thought Jackson and finucane were fantastic stepping up and covering a lot of defense and taking the ball up. taupau has been solid and is becoming a hard working bench player who will continue to develop and will push for a spot in the pack. big klemmer is getting valuable game time and will grow in confidence with each game. i thought drury low and Mitch brown have fitted in great in the backs. low looks quick and is getting involved and really hasn't put a foot wrong at the back. brown looks strong and reminds me of jono wright in size and the way he plays. has a bit of pace and would be hard to stop at full speed. the great thing is we are starting to get a rhythm even with these new guys and cut out the errors. it will be a great team when the others get back and it will set up a lot of competition for spots in the team. i think you need several good back up players to win the comp and weve just found ourselves a buch of players that will help us get there.
