It's not exactly a cacophony in here, but at least someone posted every so often.

Well, sub-par year all round. Ending was consistent with the story of the season. Go 2014!

I also got GTAV, but I've barely played. Getting chased out of a strip club is about it. Will get back into it soon.

This year was the worst in (my very crappy) memory. I can't see us doing much until we get at least one star player. Who knows when that will happen.
Zef.

Zef.

Ha ha you're gonna have a ball. Every time I boot it up I spend the session LMFAO.

I just love jacking something big and heavy like a dump truck or bus (you won't get rammed into the rail by the cops so easy in something heavy - something light like a standard sedan and they'll nail you pretty quickly), then just go all cop-killer and see how long you last.

I've got it to 5 stars and had the whole city after me but it didn't end well. Highest I got and escaped is 3 stars.

I am surprised this game isn't banned to tell you the truth.
OldDogFan

Nathan, I am not sure a "star" player is the only answer. If the players get back to trusting each other and co-operating on(and off) the field we will go great guns... stars or no stars

Breaking Bad. Take note idiot who created "Lost" - that's how you end a series.

Breaking Bad fans, did you stay past the credits for the final scene? If not, fear not - here it is for you

http://cdnl.complex.com/mp/620/400/90/0/bb/1/ffffff/90482a280f0558443c1e6c2e1849110d/images_/assets/CHANNEL_IMAGES/POP_CULTURE/2013/09/huell.jpg

One more thing, there was an easter egg for clever fans to find (which wasn't me, I picked it up off the net), which was the title - Felina.

So wtf does Felina mean apart from an anagram of finale? (which was probably just as deliberate).

Look at it the BB way, by your periodic table - FeLiNa

Fe = Iron. The dominant chemical in BLOOD.

Li = Lithium. The most commonly used metal in the manufacture of METH

Na = Sodium. The major element in TEARS.

Blood, Meth, Tears.

Brilliant, as always.
Zef.

Zef.

Seems Felina is also the name of the girl in that Marty Robbins song. So I don't know, take your pick.

Probably all 3 are right, deliberately.

Hey Zef your not banned mate come back to the BCP :))

Zef.

I'm not surfing the net enough at present to bother about it and when I do I have my blog here as long as Spambot don't bother me.

Besides, every time I've had a look at the Bulldogs Complaint Page it seems to me it's well named.

Hi Zef I think it is a shame you are here all by yourself so I have snuck back on to this page .
I think Bulldogs Complaint Page is a bit harsh but I know what you mean .
I used your FeLiNa theory on the chat/complain page .
I was thinking perhaps that discussing Breaking Bad on here could be quite interesting .
For example do you think Scott Morrison can beat the Cartel ? Will Tony Abbotts pollos hermanos come home to roost ?
Will the DEA/liberal( small l) press find out anything now the cone of silence is in place ?
Is this whole minimum info strategy a quite brilliant way to go in the circumstances ?

Abbott earned the right to govern... or should I say Labor earned the right to opposition so for the short term at least I'd say he can do whatever he wants with little impact. Won't be able to do it forever though, because nature abhors a vacuum and the news cycle even more so. You can try to ignore it but something will fill the vacuum and if Abbott and co don't they'll have no control over what does.

On this he should use himself as the lesson, because I'm sure Labor will.

I am watching this with interest because Abbott certainly laid down a lot of paint and he's at risk at finding himself in the corners of his own creation. We've already seen one such corner being the "budget emergency" that would have to have the debt repaid with the first year of the first term, now talked about as ten years with further borrowing to boot. His challenge is that he talked everything so down and now he's found the truth is we're in pretty good shape, and the selfish electorate aren't gonna take everything being good, we want it better. and apart from fiddling around the edges there's not much room to move.

I am fascinated by the old saying "a mans greatest strength is his greatest weakness" because it is so true and we see it in so many ways wether in politics, sport or war. I predict here and now and you can bank this, that the thing that will eventually bring Abbott down wether it be in 1 term (highly unlikely) or three, four (probable) will be his greatest weapon.

The price on carbon.

Not interested in debating anyone on the science (unless they'll first debate "the conspiracy") but here's the politics of it. Hunt says we're committed to the 5% and will move to 15% or 25% dependant upon international agreement. Abbott says no matter wether it goes to 25% or plus, he'll not spend a single extra cent on it so he'll dump the target instead.

2015 will be the year this is decided internationally.

Here's his strength - in the current political climate and public opinion on climate change is Aus, he can dump it and spit on it and it won't take much bark off him at all. In fact probably gain him votes.

Here's his weakness - every politician in Australia knows (and it's the reason Labor won't change it's policy too much on this) is that Australia is unique in the climate of public opinion of climate change. Because it will only take one bad summer or one bad draught before public opinion will right back to where it was after the last bad draught and bad summers of the mid-decade. It won't matter sh.t that no price on carbon is gonna have an effect on the worlds climate in this century, all that will matter is that this most selfish electorate in Australia's history will be looking for somebody to blame.

And guess who'll then have the target he painted himself square on his forehead.

Don't believe it, Howard was in exactly the same situation circa 2000+ (post Kyoto), by 2007 as far as everyone was concerned he caused the draught.

Remember when Tony Abbott loses the Climate Change Election, whenever that may be, - who predicted it.

Great stuff Zef .....I am enjoying your analysis .
Totally agree regarding the so called budget emergency . Haven't heard a squeek about that .
What I think Abbott is doing well is controlling the media cycle . He may not be able to do it long term like you say everyone abhors a vacumn but right now the boat issue is going the way he said it would go . The issue is out of the papers , the boats are being turned back . Refugees with money would be now seriously considering whether it is worth paying big bucks to get on a boat .
Job done .
Certainly the electorate wanted this issue resolved and if the Government is succesfull then the honeymoon period could be prolonged . Although it must be said he is isn't getting much of a honeymoon because perhaps people aren;t aware that boats are indeed being turned back .
The media blackout could in turn bite back .

Chaos has hit NSW and it's only bloody October. 1 term just moved up from highly unlikely.

So my weekly surf and I notice The Complaint Page is onto GW debate.

As I stated in a post above I don't debate GW with anyone anymore UNLESS they're willing to first debate their "conspiracy". You know, the whole UN plan nine from outer space thing or science trying to turn us all into communists or whatever the conspiracy of the day is.

They don't want to debate it of course, they want it accepted as a given so that they can move onto how everyone else is an idiot for not seeing it. Thing is I don't accept it as a given, so if there's gonna be any debate, that's where the debate has got to start because all else flows from that.

I note Ian - "I personally believe that the whole man made climate change lie is created to do to capitalist societies what Communism failed to achieve. " Nothing but a motherhood statement, no evidence of who or how just why. The equivalent of the infamous "they".

The challenge is to tell us about the conspiracy beyond "they". Doesn't have to be thorough down to the last conspirator, but surely there must be something that they have seen or heard or read or been told or whatever that would make seemingly sensible people believe in this massive global conspiracy. Something's convinced them hasn't it? Something above "they did it"? If they are so sure, tell us about it. Tell us why and how Govs both progressive and conservative around the world, as well as progressive and conservative NGO's AND our very own Abbott gov don't just tell us it's a conspiracy, the previous gov was in on it, the CSIRO is in on it... err.... we're in on it. Why in all those organisations is there not just one whistleblower among the hundreds of thousands if not millions that must be in on this conspiracy that has come out and shown the email they've received telling them to just shut the f*** up and back up the story so we get all our green money.

But here's the thing with my challenge. Nobody will accept it. Some may give lip service and leave the room before debate, but they definitely won't hang around for the debate. You'll just get "If you're stupid enough not to see it I can't help you" but absolutely NIL acceptance of scrutiny.

You may get someone to verbalise their conspiracy... once... but they won't accept debate on it past that. And what you will not see here or on any forum I can iron clad gurantee you 100% is them commit it to writing, in any sort of detail, the sort of detail that would explain why they believe it.

The reason being is they know as soon as they write it down and then read it themselves....

... it'll be f***in' stupid.

End of debate.
Zef.

Zef.

So I surfed Google with "Global Warming Conspiracy" and I'm not that surprised to note in the couple of pages I looked into, there's no explanation of the conspiracy above that it exists.

I think it's telling that the place that defines the conspiracy the most is Wikipedia, and they have quite a few to pick from (if one don't work for you, try another one).

Anyway conspiracy buffs, here's a selection (from Wikipedia... from what I can tell the authority on the issue), pick yours:

*A desire on the part of the United Nations and its supporters to promote a system of world government or global governance.

*A desire on the part of climate science researchers to attract financial support

*What Melanie Phillips described as "yet another variation of left-wing, anti-American, anti-west ideology which goes hand in hand with anti-globalisation."

*A desire on the part of conservative political leaders including Margaret Thatcher, and Helmut Kohl to promote nuclear power while attracting the political support of Green groups

*desire on the part of leftwing political leaders to promote socialism: Czech President Václav Klaus said that "This ideology preaches earth and nature and under the slogans of their protection – similarly to the old Marxists – wants to replace the free and spontaneous evolution of mankind by a sort of central, now global, planning of the whole world"

*Nick Minchin, Australian former leader of the Opposition in the Senate stated on the ABC program 4 Corners that "For the extreme left it [climate change] provides the opportunity to do what they've always wanted to do, to sort of de-industrialise the western world. You know the collapse of communism was a disaster for the left, and the, and really they embraced environmentalism as their new religion."

*According to the 1993 book Science under Siege by Michael Fumento, former US Senator Timothy Wirth, (D-Colo) said that "We've got to ride the global warming issue. Even if the theory of global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing – in terms of economic policy and environmental policy.."

Just pick one or bring your own AND DEBATE IT.

No of course you won't.

*A desire on the part of climate science researchers to attract financial support

Hi Zef,

You can scratch that one, any of our scientists who are interested in making money are already working for China.
Balso

Looks like Ian C has stolen his theory from Nick Minchin .
It is laughable . Accusing people who worry about the wellbeing of the planet that they
are part of a conspiracy inspired by communism ?
Who on earth is inspired by communism these days ?
This is a theory better suited to the fifties .
Nick Minchin would have been better describing it as a carrot type policy to encourage industry to embrace innovation for the future bettermant of the planet we live on .
IanC

IanC

No Balso you half-wit he stole it from me. Check the Green manifesto and tell me they are not Communists you gullible twat. They took it straight from Karl Marx. Climate change fanatics are the modern equivalent of medieval soothsayers and doom prophets. They want to put as many barriers in the way of development and growth as possible just as Pol Pot did. They want bigger government. Did you see just how many new Government agencies sprung up in the past five years all dedicated to green energy! Thank God Abbott has dismantled all of them.
