What was that naked man doing presenting the betting? Are they trying to look cool and further desensitise us to it after they got rid of Waterhouse?

After 3 years trying that KFC try / no try has finally got to me. I feel like some KFC.

I'm starting to get bad thoughts that a top 8 spot is looking shaky as well . Seems points are hard to come by these last few weeks.

We are a rabble. All over the place

That's the problem when you throw games .. The NRL can make it difficult for you to win them .. Leagues similar to an arm wrestle .. Momentum means everything

It's not so much the loss that worries me. It the fact the game was gone in the 50th minute.
Copping 16 points isnt the issue. Not scoring is the issue.
I know we weren't done any favours by the refs but you gotta be better than that.

Another upset to start the round .. Coincidence peoples.. Coincidence :P

I'm start to think that way too

I'm surprised they haven't banned the tackle from behind yet. Seems every player breaks an ankle getting tackled from behind.

I can only laugh back at all the "know it alls" who ridiculed me when I was critical the club didn't chase Soward. He tears us a new one.
Slinky

I wanted Soward. People laughed at me too so I kept it quiet in the dark depths of my heart hoping Des will feel my pain.

The biggest forward pack in the history of the NRL is being manhandled by the little Penrith blokes.

I've seen two Canterbury teams over the years not razzed by the refs that was the 2002 team (look what happened to them) and the 2012 with Barba scoring long range tries it went against the grain of the game so much so it took them all year (grand final) to find a way to reff us out of it .. The games putrid

Josh Reynolds came back to save us .

Penriff were so much better undermanned as well .

I blame the Daley Effect.

Ever since Daley chose and had an influence on our playmakers they've been crap. Even in origin they were crap.

So much for the origin eh. Will make them better they told us.

GLTD you need to learn to give credit to teams like 2002, 2012 and Roosters in 2013. Roosters gave away more penalties than anyone but were good enough to win the title.
The real good teams know how to take the refs out of games.
It seems to me that this team has the potential to be devastating when they play like the old razzle dazzle Warriors teams of 10-12 years ago. It's not a sustainable form of play, but we need to be able to switch gears when our gameplan isn't working. It cost us a GF in 2012 and we still haven't learnt.
GLTD

GLTD

I was giving credit to those teams Mark .. That was my point .. Those two teams I mentioned beat not only the opposition but the cheating NRL system .. Hence they booted us out with off field crap and waged a media offence on us in the 2012 GF

There's always an upset on a Friday night .. I knew it was too much to ask for Manly to give it up .. We're the suckers again.
GLTD

GLTD

Looks like the manly game was in the balance too .. Right up untill we folded and then Manly went on with it .. If we snuck ahead and won .. I'd bet my life Manly would've lost .. Coincidently

We only have ourselves to blame mate. I didn't think the refs got Lafai try wrong. Thompson obstruction try was touch and go but technically the man who could have prevented the try (Idris) was impeded. Didn't see the other one.
I just hope the team and Des pay significant attention to the last 10 mins where we had them backpedaling and managed to score easily. Our forward momentum from 2nd phase play meant we were standing deep by default and running into the ball. Big guys on the fringes were eating yards. TRex is at his devastating best in this scenario yet we rarely play to these strengths.
I don't think our halves are good enough I'm afraid. They may have played origin, hut let's face it....it was the Hayne/Farrah/Gallen show. Our guys were there as decoys.

They didn't get lafais try wrong
R u serious that fagot should've awarded it and not gone upstairs a try for all money

The NRL has some good teams and some not so good but they all have one thing in common; they tend to play to their strengths. Everyone that is except Canterbury; we play to our weaknesses and ignore our strengths. Tonight exemplified that more than any other game this season. Special mention to Hodkinson who had probably the worst game I have seen from a Canterbury half-back since the halcyon days of Daniel Holdsworth. Yes folks Origin has certainly done wonders for his game!!

Refereeing in that first half was a disgrace. 2 of our no trys should have been trys. Second half we were out enthused by Penrith especially the forwards. Ours are trying to go sideways before going forward and then when we have the ball in the opposition redzone we are too flat no one is running from deep onto the ball. You'd think the Origin halves would be able to figure that 1 out.

1 of the biggest problems the club has got is having that souless shithole as a home ground. If we get a home ground advantage out of playing there then I'm the Pope. Just about every fan I know hates the place and doesn't enjoy the game day experience of going there.
