Dam the media they are all carrying on about the alleged sledging, just saw Bellamy interviewed and also said that their is to much sledging in the game, I guess in reference to Ennis. If he thinks that sledging has cost the Storm the game he has well and truly lost the plot.

Haven't you heard of the silent majority....no body with half a brain gave a feck about the conspiracy theories....I do wish the Greens were similarly ignored....we deal in facts as the late Jack Webb said....nothing but the facts Duh de duh duh (think Dragnet theme). That is why we have to ask where are those chatty ones now??

@Hartley - what about Roy Hodgson still buggering Liverpool. Everytime Sturridge plays for him he gets injured.

I think Steveswr was the only 1 who remained positive right through.

Not really mate...starting with the drubbing by the Tigers and the following weeks even I was not dopey enough to be that positive but I think the point I made has been vindicated...our best performances all year were at least as good as the best from the other teams. You gotta love Greg Eastwood!!!

My workplace is like a boring nursing home when it comes to talking weekend footy.

The only person who has an interest in the bogan lady who speaks in typical footballing cliches. I avoid her.

This is the one time I wish I had Parra and St George workmates
Zef.

Zef.

Did everyone note who had the entire rooms rapt attention in between Des's talk and Mick's huddle at half-time yesterday? That's right, James F***ing Graham.

There's the Captain for season '15 and beyond, in fact I think he's already co-captain in all but name now.

And what a fit, apart from the fact he comes naturally to the position, doesn't have to be moulded or selected by the coach as he's already got the teams loyalty and respect and leads them naturally. and apart from that there's solidity in the captaincy for seasons to come, no missing games for City V Country, Origin or Australia. Just 100% attention on The Dogs.

Would that make James F***ing Graham the first Pom to lead The Dogs?

Nein...Roger Pearman was captain/coach just before Kevin Ryan arrived at the Dogs....that is a legacy of days gone by the captain coach...also possibility one of these may have captained on the odd occasion but wouldn't bet on it Doug Laughton, Brian Lockwood, Mick Adams or Jonathan Davies...even though he is technically Welsh! I do agree that he would be an inspirational skipper.

So let's analyse the game a little.
Wtf happened yesterday?

What did we do that we didn't do 8 weeks prior?

We ran straigh, with numbers and created chances for offloads, and took those chances. In defence we were brutal, Bellyache could tell in the opening 5mins we came out with more enthusisam and smashed them. Same again please this Sat. The leagues club yesterday was going off tap.

@ Hartley some of us passionate supporters believe in saying it as we see it, and you have to agree that a fair number of games prior to yesterday were fairly disappointing to say the least. So we just let out our frustrations on the forum, because most of us know that our team can do better.
If you took notice of all the posts about the million dollar bets which corrupt and influence the game, then I feel sorry for you because you have as big a problem as those who thought up the BS.

favourites last week and we lose ?.. underdogs and we win ??.. Mmm??..

Makes ya wonder who's radar Des like flying under...

Just thought I'd be consistant .. It's not only when we lose..

Anyway go the Dogs ..

Steve, I will admit I was completely wrong about the Storm game (and glad I was).
I didn't give us much hope although never completely discounted we could win.

What amazed me is that we performed for the full 80 minutes. Full 80 minutes. I don't think I have ever seen us do that. Not even the 66-4 thrashing of the Cows in '97 at Belmore, not even the Storm finals game in 2005 (Sherwin's masterclass)

I honestly didn't think we had it in us to put such a performance in.

We are all back on the bandwagon because of what we just did.
We hope we can continue the intensity. Either way, we have (to ourselves more than anyone) what we are capable of and can build from this.

Excellent work from the players. I think Des has wanted us to play at this level for ages now and just couldn't get our players up to it (its actually up to them). We finally played like a Des Hasler coached Manly team. Full throttle for the entire game.

I can Sniff a 95 finals run.

Manly are rattling and crumbling. I think we will put them out of their misery.

The biggest heartache we will have will be the Semi final. They are usually bigger and more intense than the Grand Final.

We will be leading 18-14 with Penrith having wave after wave at the try line in the dying minutes when finally a bomb goes up... They will refer it to the video ref...
GLTD

GLTD

Glad you can admit your wrong Mark ..

Now let's make that a habit.

The game yesterday had upset written all over it. Smith injured, we were underdogs, the following game vs manly would've been a marketing nightmare. The way we stopped playing the previous week and allowed an underdog to get up??.. The storm barely showed up and we finally had a fair refereed game.. (One we can't complain about any way)

All these things should be the same against Manly .. Penriff is anyones guess.. I just hope by that time Phil Gould and his league of journo friends don't rise against us and paint us out to be the BIG BAD DOGS..

The only important thing is that the players love Des and know he has their backs and is a coach of the highest level of integrity and loyalty. People on here have said the opposite time and time again showing their complete ignorance. The players and staff know what he does and the dribble on here is just that, dribble with a capital D.
GLTD

GLTD

Thanks slinky .. My heart lept to that moment and skipped a beat .. "Mitch brown" just grounded the ball first though .. Try disallowed .. Who da thunk it ??

I'd love to see Gould commentating at that moment. No no no no no f* no!

Reminds me of the 12th man when Security was breaking down the door to the commentary box to save Richie from Max Walker.

Gould will lock himself in the video ref box.

I agree 100% Nancy, anyone who doubts Des's ability as coach should be ashamed if themselves. I wouldn't want anyone else coaching this great club. It was always the players, it was always about the attitude of our players and our halves/fullback problems etc. Des brings the best out of his players! The coach will get you half way there but it's the attitude of the players that make up the other half. Imagine Des got the players he was after, we would be unbeatable and dominate for years.

I'm happy to admit that I went into yesterday's game with zero expectations that the team would play well. And the game was the most enjoyable I've watched in a long, long time.

I'll watch the Manly game with zero expectations.

(If we make the preliminary final, I won't be able to help getting a little excited.)

Great news on the no charges.

I am glad all players are cleared .... you wan the best players playing in all teams this time of year unless they have done something really bad.
JWH of the Roosters is probably a bit lucky ... he plays close to the edge and has got a bad record.
I'll be happy to watch JWH v Matt Scott this week .,... Matt Scott is my favorite non-dogs player.
It should be a good game ... I recon the Cowboys should win.
Assuming we make it, I hope someone knocks the Cowboys out before the GF, they are the team I think we will find it hardest to beat.

For the Manly game we just need to turn up with the same attitude and energy as we did against the Storm.
We should be too good for them, but you can't expect an easy game in the semi's.
The good news is they seem to be falling apart .... I am wondering if Des kept the joint together when he was there. So far, I don't rate their current coach.
He has been playing with the team he inherited from Des, but they seem to be going backwards at present. But their problems are probably more due to admin than coaching.
But if Manly turn up ready to play we could still be in for a very hard game.
I still recon B. Steward is absolutely top class ... if we are going to sign a fullback ... I hope it is him.

Good news on judiciary front.
Hope we are all OK health-wise

I loved Corey Thompson accelerating in front of Mahe Fonua to ensure Lafai had an uninterrupted sprint to the tryline. James Graham on that corner chase with (I believe either Jackson or Hodko) was also incredible.
