Hull FC has secured the future of one of their brightest young prospects Danny Washbrook for the next three years.
The 22-year-old loose-forward or stand-off has agreed a new contract with Hull FC from the start of next year and it will keep him at the club until the end of the 2011 engage Super League campaign.
His signing comes on the back of utility player Graeme Horne agreeing a new one-year deal last week, and Washbrook revealed. "I am pleased to have got everything sorted out and it means I don't need to worry about where I will be next year.
"I never wanted to leave the club, it is my club and I'm very happy here. I feel my game is developing and improving all the time in the environment at Hull FC.
"A three year deal not only gives me security but the chance to concentrate on my rugby, doing my best for the team instead of thinking about next year and what am I going to be doing."
Although he is a recognised loose-forward Washbrook has played most of the season at stand-off but he said: "The experience and knowledge I have gained from switching positions will I am sure help and improve my game in the long term.
"I was always happy to step into the position and I'll be happy to play stand-off for the rest of the season if that's what is needed.
"I'd like to get back to loose-forward but while I am playing stand-off I'll always do the best I can."
The news has delighted coach Richard Agar, who said: "He is a good player and has an excellent attitude. He is rapidly maturing as a player and person and is someone you can build a club around."
With the ever-increasing emphasis in Super League on producing your own players this is another excellent signing for the club and it also shows how successful Hull's youth system has become.
Washbrook, like Horne, is one of a crop of local players who have come through the system and broken through to establish themselves in Super League.
Chief executive James Rule is delighted that the club has been able to secure the future of another of their young players, and he said: "Danny is a model professional in terms of how he conducts himself both on and off the field.
"He is another product of our academy system and with the forthcoming quota requirements club developed players are extremely valuable to the long term planning of Super League clubs.
"We are naturally delighted to have secured a long-term agreement with Danny and look forward to his development in the black and white shirt for Hull FC."
After making four appearances in 2005, Washbrook got his big chance the following year when Hull played Catalans Dragons in Pertinent. An injury to Sid Domic opened the door for Washbrook and he has never looked back since that game.

Source: www.hullfc.comHull FC have reaffirmed their reputation as one of the leading engage Super League clubs for developing local playing talent by offering new contracts to Danny Washbrook, Matty Dale and Scott Wheeldon.
The trio have all agreed two year extensions to their contracts keeping them at The Kingston Communications Stadium at least until the end of the 2008 season.
The Airlie Birds have twelve Hull born players in their senior squad this season and plenty more local talents are impressing in the Senior and Junior Academy ranks.
Danny Washbrook, who has recently broken into Peter Sharp's side with a string of impressive performances is in his second year at the club having signed in 2004. He scooped the Man of the Match award in the Senior Academy Grand Final in 2005 and made four appearances off the bench in the 2005 Super League season. Washbrook has represented both England Schoolboys and the Yorkshire Academy. He started his career with Skirlaugh before moving to Embassy Longhill where he played for their U16s and gained a place on the England Schoolboy Tour of France.
Matt Dale was named Hull FC's 2004 Junior Academy Player of the Year, he is a hard running back row forward who has honours with Yorkshire at U16s level. Matty is a local lad who signed from Embassy Longhill after being their stand out player for a number of years and played in national cup finals at under 14 and under 16 levels prior to gaining his Yorkshire Academy selection. Matty has played a number of positions during his playing career but now is concentrating on the back row position.
Scott Wheeldon is another local lad who didn't start playing the game until he was 15 years old. Scott unfortunately broke his leg when he was 16 but has made a great recovery since. Wheeldon signed from East Hull and has a tremendous attitude in training and has been a stand out player for the Hull FC academies. In 2003 he gained himself a place in the Yorkshire junior academy side playing Lancashire both home and away. Scott certainly impressed during 2005 whilst on loan at Featherstone Rovers.
Steve Crooks, Youth Development Manager at Hull FC, said:
"The deals for Danny, Matty and Scott bring us continuality, their attitude and performance on the field and on the training ground is superb. The youth structure here is at a very high standard and it's pleasing to see local lads progressing to the top level. Young players can see a career path at Hull FC and the standard of these players ensures we don't necessarily need to look elsewhere."News sent by:
