King out for two weeks, Turner out for season
Tue August 14, 2007
Source: www.melbournestorm.com.au

With the NRL finals only three weeks away, Melbourne Storm has been struck by injuries to key players Matt King and Steve Turner.

King suffered a fractured scaphoid bone in his right wrist during the first-half of Sunday's clash against the Broncos.

"He went in for surgery this morning to have a screw inserted into his wrist," said Mary Toomey, Storm's High Performance Unit Manager.

"We expect he will improve rapidly and at this stage should be back for the Titans game in Round 25."

Turner meanwhile looks set to miss the remainder of the season with ligament damage to his right knee, also sustained during the first-halfof the Broncos clash.

"Steve is having surgery this evening. He's having an arthroscope to assess and treat a lateral cartilage tear and a posterior cruciate tear in his right knee," said Toomey.

"Best case scenario is four to six weeks, but it's likely he won't be available for the remainder of the season."

Turner missed the entire 2005 season after sustaining an ankle injury during a pre-season practice match against the Broncos.

He also missed the start of this season with an ankle injury, again after playing the Broncos in a pre-season practice match.

Matt King Coaching Clinic
Wed July 11, 2007
Source: www.melbournestorm.com.au

Melbourne Storm centre Matt King will conduct his very own rugby league coaching clinic tomorrow with 250-300 members of Kingy's Crew set to descend on MC Labour Park for the big day.

Kingy's Crew is a membership category for young supporters of the Melbourne Storm between 5-15 years-of-age.

The Kingy's Crew Junior Rugby League Clinic, presented by Medibank Private, will feature plenty of highlights for the Crew members with each member given a backpack full of Kingy's Crew and Melbourne Storm merchandise, as well as an end-of-session sausage sizzle - not to mention being taught how to play the game by one of the world's best players!

At the end of the session everyone will be involved in a huge group photo with King, his Crew and the Melbourne Storm players helping out.

Along with King, many other Storm players including young gun Israel Folau, Storm games record holder Matt Geyer, Kiwi international Adam Blair, Queensland State-of-Origin and Australian representative Michael Crocker, and NSW State-of-Origin representative Ryan Hoffman, will be there to teach the kids a thing or two about the game of rugby league.

KINGY'S CREW TIMETABLE:
1.30pm - 2.00pm: Registration ? each Crew member will receive a back pack with a 10-year poster, Kingy's Crew stickers, Medibank Private sweat band and drink bottle, and a Kingy's Crew t-shirt.

2:00pm - 3:15pm: Rugby League Clinic

3:15pm - 3:45pm: Sausage sizzle (inside Gate 4)

3:45pm - 4:00pm: Matt King Q and A time (In the Legends Stand)
