Inu Returns, Finch Hits 200 v Broncos
Tue May 27, 2008
Source: www.parraeels.com.au

Halfback Brett Finch will play his 200th First Grade game while team mate Krisnan Inu makes a long awaited return from injury when the Pirtek Parramatta Eels take on the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on Friday.

Inu has been missing from the Eels line up since round one and has been named in the team after making a successful comeback from ankle surgery in the NSW Cup last weekend.

Finch will play his 200th match in his tenth season of First Grade, having made his debut at age 17 for the Canberra Raiders against Melbourne on June 4, 1999.

"It's a massive honour for me to play 200 games," Finch said.

"It's a pretty big milestone and something that I'm very proud to have achieved.

"But what would make it even sweeter is to get the win, that's the most important thing from my and from the team's perspective.

"I can think of no better way to mark the occasion than picking up two competition points in what's shaping to be a vital match in terms of our season."

Of the current Eels squad, only Daniel Wagon (223) and Nathan Hindmarsh (220) are ahead of Finch on the list of all time First Grade matches.

Inu's return is also cause for celebration, with the Broncos match to be his first appearance in the top grade since picking up an ankle injury early in the Eels round one win over the Bulldogs.

"I've been looking forward to this day for three months," Inu said. "Recovery was long and hard so it's great to finally get to the light at the end of the tunnel.

"The ankle feels really strong and it came through the game for Wenty fine.

"I'm just looking forward to putting the last 11 weeks behind me and getting on with the season."

Jarryd Hayne also comes back into the Eels line up after missing the loss to the Roosters due to Origin commitments while Joel Reddy shifts to the centres in place of Ben Smith.

Taulima Tautai has missed out on selection and will line up at centre in Toyota Cup.

The Eels play the Broncos at 7.45pm Friday at Suncorp Stadium, the match to follow the Toyota Cup clash between the two sides, which kicks off at 5.30pm.

Roosters favourites for Folau and Inu
Sun November 18, 2007
by Matthew O'Neill
Fresh after signing Willie Mason on a deal believed to be back-ended to the end of his career, the Roosters aren't satisfied with just that and are favourites to snare teenage sensations Israel Folau and Krisnan Inu.

Roosters Recruitment Manager Peter O'Sullivan said, "We're definitely going to need an outside back, no doubt about that, and they're both coming off contract.

"There are going to be 16 clubs going for Israel Folau and Krisnan and we'll definitely be one of them. I'm sure either of these two players would be seen as an another advantage for what we're attempting to achieve here.''

Mason was on just over $400,000 at the Bulldogs and he has admitted that he isn't taking a pay cut in heading across to Bondi Junction.

One source close to Mason said, "He was told matter-of-factly that Inu and Folau would be coming to the club (Roosters) at the end of next season."

Parramatta appear certain to lose one of Inu or another teenage sensation Jarryd Hayne as big money offers from rival clubs come pouring in plus they'll need money to upgrade Feleti Mateo's contract as his value is set to boom with NSW and Austalian selection very close.

The Roosters have Mason, Braith Anasta and Mark O'Meley on deals around and over the $400,000 mark with Anthony Minichiello and Nate Myles both over $300,000; Amos Roberts on $250,000 and Anthony Tupou would be in at least the $200,000 range after representing Australia in the last two years.

When the Roosters released Ashley Harrison to the Gold Coast a week ago, coach Brad Fittler told Channel Seven News, "We were above the salary cap so we had to trim it down somehow."

With Folau and Inu set to join the stars and glitter at the Roosters another push for a Premiership is certainly on the cards, which they have only won just the one title in the last 30 years and three titles in the last 60 years.

Meanwhile, Braith Anasta is set to remain at the Roosters for a further four seasons in a deal believed to be worth around the $400,000 mark.
