Source: www.broncos.com.auJustin Hodges will spend another two weeks on the sidelines after failing to beat a contrary conduct charge at the NRL judiciary tonight.
Legal counsel Jim Hall failed to convince the three-man panel Hodges did not make a derogatory gesture at referee Tony Archer in last Sunday's win over Canberra.
The Broncos argued a two-week ban was over-excessive for such a charge with Archer unable to be offended as he did not even see any gesture.
The unsuccessful defence means Hodges will miss matches against the Warriors and Dragons, back for the round 24 match against the Gold Coast Titans at Suncorp Stadium on August 22.
Meanwhile, Ben Hannant is preparing for a huge battle with the massive Warriors pack on Saturday.
The Broncos will head to Auckland ready for an onslaught from the hot and cold Warriors at Mount Smart Stadium.
But after three straight victories, Hannant said the team was travelling well and keen to keep on improving.
"We are hopefully building momentum and getting better," said Hannant.
"This is the fun part of the season as we get to the finals.
"The Warriors are big boys and we are going to have our work cut out for us in the middle."
Joel Clinton, Nick Kenny and Greg Eastwood did not train today but are all expected to play, with Tonie Carroll (hamstring) not travelling to Auckland.

Source: www.broncos.com.auJustin Hodges has secured his future with the Ergon Energy Broncos by signing a four-year contract with the club.
After a long round of negotiations with chief executive Bruno Cullen, the 25-year-old has been locked in as a Bronco until the end of 2011.
Cullen said the signing of the high-class centre was proof Hodges felt his home was in Brisbane.
Spotted by the club as a teenager, Hodges made his NRL debut in 2000 before spending three years with the Sydney Roosters.
He returned to Queensland in 2005 and was a big part of the 2006 premiership.
"We think we have got very good value out of Justin in the past couple of years and feel we are repaying some of that to him now," said Cullen.
"It is wonderful news that the current Australian Test centre wanted to stay with the Broncos, and has subsequently agreed to for such a significant length of time.
"We are certain we are going to see the best of Justin Hodges on the field over the next four years."Hodges said he had always been keen to make sure his playing future was with the Brisbane club.
"I didn't really want to go anywhere else," he said.
"I have really enjoyed my football since coming back to Brisbane under the coaching of Wayne Bennett.
"I think it has had a lot to do with reaching goals like winning last year's grand final and playing for Australia.
"I am looking forward to what the next few seasons with the Broncos will bring."Hodges was today named at centre for the Broncos' crunch match against the Bulldogs at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
