And Giants chairman, Ken Davy believes it is a fitting reward for all his hard work, "He has been an excellent general manager and will be an excellent managing director," said the chairman. "His commitment has always been beyond reproach and he fully deserves for that to be recognised.
"Many aspects of his role remain the same but, as a formal member of the board, he will now be able to play an increasingly important part as the Giants continue to move forward.
"And that's what we will continue to do."Richard Thewlis added, "I am both honoured and delighted to offered the role of managing director, and one of my goals will be to continue the tradition of this great club.
