ST HELENS will equal the club record of 21 successive Cup and League wins if they defeat Hull in the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday.
The record was set from the start of the 1964-65 season when they went from 22 August until 9 January winning every match. The run consisted of 17 League matches in the old one division system and four Lancashire Cup-ties. The run ended with a 6-4 League defeat at Warrington.
This year, the Saints' 20 successive victories consist of 16 engage Super League matches and four Carnegie Challenge Cup-ties. It is the best run of victories by any Super League club in the summer era. Francis Meli and Bryn Hargreaves are the only players to have played in all 20 matches.
St. Helens's last defeat was 30-24 at Castleford Tigers on 6 April.
The longest winning run of all time is 29 by Wigan in 1987 and Huddersfield in 2002. Wigan were in the top division and Huddersfield in the second.
HOLROYD EQUALS CLUB RECORDGRAHAM HOLROYD of Halifax equalled the club goals in a season record of 147* with eight in the 64-44 Co-operative National League One win at Featherstone Rovers. * Does not include one in the friendly match against Melbourne Storm, arranged as a warm up game before the Australian club played in the World Club Challenge early in the season.

Hicks's scoring run began with his debut for Warrington at the start of this season. The Australian's scoring sequence is unusual in that he scored tries in the first seven matches before taking over the goal kicking and adding goals in every match since.

Catalans halfback Thomas Bosc has edged ahead of Wigan's Pat Richards as Super League leading point scorer following a 20-point haul against Warrington on Saturday night.
Bosc has been outstanding for the Frenchmen this season as they have stunned their critics to sit comfortably in 3rd position this season.
Pat Richards is in second position on 176 with a game in hand as Wigan haven't yet played their Round 16 clash against Huddersfield. Kevin Sinfield is 3rd on 164 points and Sean Long became the 4th player to pass the 150 point barrier this season with three goals against Leeds on Friday night.
Leeds might have lost against St Helens on Friday night, but it was Rhinos flyer Scott Donald and not Saints finisher Ade Gardner that crossed the line during the Saints 26-12 victory. The one try by Donald puts him one ahead of Donald in the two-horse race for leading try scorer. Clint Greenshields and Chris Hicks didn't cross the line in Round 18 leaving them in equal 3rd position on 12 tries each.
Bosc has moved ahead of Kevin Sinfield as the leading goal kicker landing eight successful shots against Warrington on Saturday night. Bosc is now on 79 goals and three clear of Sinfield. Richards is in 3rd position with 68 and Long two behind with 66 goals.
Hull FC stand-off Adam Dykes is the only player this season with two drop goals, although Castleford fans wish Brent Sherwin would also have two drop goals alongside his name after his late attempt on Sunday against Wigan was unsuccessful.
