He joins Lee Gilmour, Willie Talau, Jason Hooper and Nick Fozzard in re-signing with the Challenge Cup Winners, who have also announced Australian international Matt Gidley as a new recruit for 2007. Bennett, 26, has had limited appearances this season due to two shoulder injuries but is determined to start afresh for the new term. Bennett said: "I am very pleased to be staying with Saints. I have been unlucky with injuries this year and would like to thank the club for their support and patience. I am determined to have a strong finish to this season and get back into the first-choice 17."Saints Chief Executive Sean McGuire said: "Mike has been with the club for 11 years and we are delighted that he has chosen to remain with us. He is a quality professional and a great ambassador for the club and we all look forward to him pulling on the red vee again soon."The second-rower has made 113 appearances for Saints, scoring 10 tries, including one against Bradford Bulls at Old Trafford in 2002 as Saints won the Grand Final.
