The Eels trailed by eight and were pressuring the line ten minutes out from full time when the Panthers kicked up a gear, turning a 26-18 lead to an eventual 26 point victory. The loss in the top of the table encounter is the first for the Eels in the Toyota Cup since it kicked off two months ago. Tony Williams, Tim Robinson and Joe Mataele score tries for the Eels with Williams also adding three conversions, while for the Panthers winger Junior Tia-Kilifi scored three of his own in an eight try display.
