Sat March 29, 2008 Source: www.giantsrl.comJon Sharp has urged his squad to look to achieve consistency in their performances over the coming weeks as the side prepare for Sunday's Round 9 fixture- a tough away trip to Craven Park to face this seasons big improvers Hull Kingston Rovers (3pm). The Giants travel to East Yorkshire to face Justin Morgan's side after an up and down Easter. Defeat at Warrington on Good Friday was followed by a thrilling 28-26 victory over St Helens on Easter Monday. "Were looking forward to it, we've just done a really good job and played the best we've played all year. We should be going into the game full of confidence, although not over-confidence, because the next challenge for us is consistency. We have been a little bit up and down at the moment but I think its part of the year where most sides are struggling for consistency."The Robins are another side who achieved one win and one defeat from their Easter schedule, and Sharp knows that the Giants will have to be on top of their game to topple a side that have lost just once at home this season. "It is a tough game; they're a big side and are going to be physical. They have a big forward pack and two really smart halves that kick the ball really well. The challenge is going to be massive, not only with playing Hull KR but coming off the back of those 2 games in 3 days. There is a challenge for both coaches."Further to the continued loss of Great Britain Internationals David Hodgson and Martin Aspinwall, Sharp also confirmed another Lions representative Stephen Wild and Winger Shane Elford are also out of action. "Stephen Wild is looking at about 12 weeks out; he needs an operation on his wrist. Shane Elford should be a couple of weeks with his hamstring. You've got to handle it- everyone at the moment seems to be having injuries. I suppose if there is a right time to get your injuries its now."News sent by: www.giantsrl.com |
