Mon July 14, 2008 Source: www.raiders.com.auThe CFMEU Canberra Raiders have put themselves back into top-eight contention with a 19-12 win against the St George-Illawarra Dragons in Wollongong yesterday. The Raiders led all the way, scoring the first four tries of the match before holding on to their lead in front of the 14,040 strong crowd. Raiders' captain Alan Tongue made a shock return from injury, while Neville Costigan also made a successful return to the top grade. Canberra winger Adrian Purtell scored twice in the side's four tries to two win, with Colin Best and Dane Tilse also crossing the try line. After the match, Raiders' coach Neil Henry praised his side's defensive effort, while Dragons' coach Nathan Brown said his side were out-played and out-enthused by the desperate Raiders. Referee: Tony De Las Heras Crowd: 14,040 Halftime: Raiders 14-0 Report Source: www.raiders.com.auTue July 8, 2008 Source: www.raiders.com.auThe CFMEU Canberra Raiders have named an unchanged line up for their match against the St George-Illawarra Dragons on Sunday afternoon at WIN Stadium, with hooker Glen Buttriss the only injury concern for the Green Machine. Buttriss injured his knee against the Storm on Sunday afternoon in Melbourne, but is still a chance to play this weekend, with Ryan Hinchcliffe available at hooker if Buttriss fails to be fit by Sunday. The Raiders have named an extended bench for the match with both Neville Costigan and Trevor Thurling added to the squad, with Costigan a chance of playing his first NRL match since injuring his quad in round one against the Knights. Raiders Coach Neil Henry said the team would remain relatively unchanged from last week, with skipper Alan Tongue still not at full fitness following a rib injury sustained against the Sharks in round 16. "We will wait and see with Glen Buttriss to see if his knee responds, and at the moment he is still a chance of being right for Sunday," Henry said. "Alan Tongue has not yet recovered from his rib injury and this is why he hasn't been included into the side for this week." 1 David Milne, 2 Colin Best, 3 Marshall Chalk, 4 Joel Monaghan, 5 Adrian Purtell, 6 Terry Campese, 7 Todd Carney [c], 8 Troy Thompson, 9 Glen Buttriss, 10 Dane Tilse, 11 Glen Turner, 12 Josh Miller, 13 Joe Picker.
