Source: www.superleague.co.ukLeeds Rhinos played some champagne rugby league to book a play-off clash with St Helens, blitzing Wakefield Wildcats in their engage Super League clash with eight tries in a 46-4 win.
On a night when Tony Smith may have coached his last game at Headingley in charge of the Rhinos, Kevin Sinfield became only the second player in engage Super League history to score in every round of the regular season, joining Andy Farrell.
Keith Senior became the first player to appear in 300 engage Super League games and the gate of 19,226 gave the Rhinos an average of 17,558 for the season - their best since the Second World War - and made them the best supported rugby league club in England.
Leeds went ahead after only five minutes when Brent Webb fielded a deep kick and skipped past four men before feeding Danny McGuire who raced in from halfway. Sinfield reached his landmark with the goal.
Leeds were well on top and looked like scoring freely but over-elaboration and brave defence kept them out until the 26th minute when a well-timed pass from Rob Burrow put Sinfield in under the posts.
Leeds were simply too quick and sharp for Wakefield, who despite the promptings of Ben Jeffries, could not match their home side, who went further ahead when McGuire gathered his own kick and burst through the middle.
Leeds were unstoppable. Rob Burrow scampered over in the corner four minutes after the break and Clinton Toopi took a perfectly weighted Sinfield kick before side-stepping his way to the line.
A second try from Burrow took Leeds to 34-0 and Brent Webb put them even further ahead before Ben Jeffries marked his final Wakefield game with a try.
The Wildcats' scrum half was then sin-binned and that allowed Leeds even more room, Lee Smith getting in on the act as Leeds finished off in style.

HAVE YOU BEEN SURPRISED BY WAKEFIELD'S FORM THIS SEASON?
Wakefield have had a very good year and are a little unlucky not be making the Play Offs after their last gasp defeat to Huddersfield last week. However, that shows the progression they have made as a club and a team in the past year. One of the really encouraging things has been the utilisation and discovery of young English players within their squad which is great for the game as a whole. They have really taken on the challenge of reducing the number of overseas players and they are making the most of their home grown talent, long may that continue.
KEITH SENIOR AND KEVIN SINFIELD ARE SET TO BREAK PERSONAL MILESTONES THIS WEEKEND, HOW PLEASED ARE YOU FOR THEM?
Keith will be hoping he and the team can celebrate his remarkable achievement of making 300 Super League appearances with a great performance and an impressive win over a very good team. If Kevin achieves his record, it will be a remarkable achievement and very well deserved. It speaks volumes for his durability and talent. Whilst we do not normally like to count our chickens before they have hatched, it would be great if we were able to acknowledge both players achievements at Headingley Carnegie, if this is to be our last home game of the season, as it could be.
HOW IMPORTANT IS A GOOD PERFORMANCE FROM YOUR SIDE?
It is important for us to finish the season in a positive manner with a good performance. We are looking to build momentum and develop those aspects of our play which we have been pleased with in recent weeks. Our commitment in defence and to one another has been very good for weeks however we need to remove the errors in our game and improve our attacking skills. When that happens and we do click in that regard, we will be a very difficult team to beat for anyone.
