At half time Wigan led 6-12 but after the break conceded five tries, the result leaves Ian Millward?s men second from bottom of the Super League table.
The Coach not helped by an injury to Scott Logan before the game which saw a change on the bench with Seuseu drafted in . Logan did play and picked up a different injury, Harrison Hansen also hobbled off during the first half and both have already been ruled out of the Bradford game.
Wigan started brightly; it took just three minutes to breakthrough at the Jungle. A Danny Orr kick on the final tackle and skipper Sean O'Loughlin was the quickest to react to get the touch and the first try. Orr struck the conversion to make it 0-6.
The Warriors were forced to make an early change with Harrison Hansen hobbling off on six minutes to be replaced by Bryan Fletcher.
On nineteen, Wigan were in again under the posts and it was the same combination, Orr the creator with a side step and pass sending in O'Loughlin for his second try. Tickle hit the extras to make it 0-12.
The home side hauled themselves back in it on 25 minutes. A Chris Ashton attempted pass was intercepted by Castleford winger Waine Pryce who was able to use his pace to dive over, Andy Kain hit the conversion 6-12.
The Tigers were denied a second try on 35 minutes; a high McGoldrick kick was taken by Pryce who was able to get the ball away to Richard Fletcher. The referee pulled it back for off side as Fletcher dived over.
Cas thought they had gone over in the final moments of the half through Michael Shenton, instead the home side were awarded a penalty in back play. It stayed 6-12 until the interval.
Just two minutes into the second half and the Tigers were level. Michael Platt crashing past Brown and Moran for a try from a scrum. Kain hit the conversion to make it 12-12.
Castleford hit the front for the first time on 52 minutes, Danny Orr passing the ball and it came off the Warriors water carrier and Paul Handforth was able to pick the ball up for the Tigers third try. This was quickly followed by touchdowns from Richard Fa'aoso out wide and Andy Kain and all of a sudden the home side led 28-12.
A Kain penalty on 68 minutes made it 30-12.
On 70 minutes, Wigan were given a lifeline with their third try, a Moran kick was taken by Pat Richards who was able to dive over. Tickle hit a good conversion to make it 30-18.
Any hope of a late comeback was short lived as Pryce scored his side?s sixth try and his second which Kain converted to make it 36-18.
A Kain penalty ended the misery and it finished 38-18.
